Which is why these mages have devised a plan. Know how they can get the power they want without risking being killed? Get other people to do it for them. They could start a boys club, draw in those with exceptional powers and get a couple of young, expectingly boys they can seduce into the craft. Teach them a few tricks, make sure they have enough skill and then, well, the rest of the picture is a bit more graphic. It's the perfect plan. Who is going to think there is a sinister cult at work under the guise of a camping trips and swim teams?
