Heresy: something held in opposition to sacred belief or doctrine Heretic: someone who is guilty of heresy No suspected anything sinister until the sudden disappearance of Eric Magnus Lensherr, also known as Magneto, in 2003. He disappeared without any trace from a supposedly inescapable plastic prison. There is no evidence of security being tampered with, no evidence of a traitor, nothing. He just disappeared. One minute Magneto was there and the next, he was gone. Many searched high and low for the missing Brotherhood Leader. No one found anything, not the Government and not Xavier; it was almost as if Magneto had vanished out of thin air. Many of the Brotherhood higher ups suspected he had escaped and was biding his time until he returned in full force. But a year passed and then another, nothing happened. They began to wonder if he was coming at all. Xavier came to believe that something or someone was behind the disappearances, watching them carefully and trying to guess what mutant might disappear next. Security at the school doubled, more activities related to the training of the original X-Men were added. Xavier managed to guess a few and take them to his school before they vanished but the school has limited room, he can’t save everybody from the unknown. It is a difficult moral game to try to decide who can be saved and who must risk it on their own. Four years later, in 2007, not even rumors are passing and usually those are rampant in times such as these. The one called En Sabah Nur remains unknown and in hiding. It is he who is biding his time… |
