What's dead should stay dead.
Sam died. Dean sold his soul to get him back. Now, he has only one year left to live and he plans to live it to the fullest. He’s a dead man anyway, why not hunt to the heart’s content and live the way a dying man would? Sam doesn’t think that’s wise and he’ll find a way to save his brother one way or another, even if the deal seems locked tight. Sam was pre-law, they are always loop-holes somewhere in a contract. He just has to find them. The problem: Dean won’t let him. Dean is the one who will stand in the way because Sam has to live. The world needs Sammy.

Unfortunately, the world isn’t looking too kindly on Sam and Dean Winchester. They opened the gate. They let out evil into the world. They opened Pandora’s box. Hunters aren’t too keen to work with the Winchesters, no matter their father’s reputation. In fact, most of them are one step away from hunting them down to make them pay for what they’ve done. Several are in fact, including the escapee: Gordon Walker. And they’re not alone, the law is looking for the Winchesters and Walker for that matter. The hunter community is about to be visited by the people they run from and it all leads back to Sam and Dean Winchester.
I've only got a year to live, Sam. I’d like to make the most of it. So what do you say we kill some evil sons of bitches and raise a little hell?
The real world isn’t the only thing out to get the brothers, and the other hunters for that matter. Evil was let out. People were possessed. Lives were changed in just the week after the gate was opened. These are beings that they don’t have the weapons, or the man power to fight. Sooner or later, they are going to have to call on the civilians to help them out, but will they be ready?
It’s a war, and everyone has to be prepared for it. There’s no leader on either side. There’s no clear battle line drawn. There’s no road to the finish line. It is a highway to nowhere.
