Barely a year after the end of the Third War, the world of Azeroth was yet again plunged into chaos.

A young Twilight’s Hammer Cultist by the name of Malvos wandered into the depths of Aszhara. No one knows what he did while he was there or how he managed to do what he did, but after four days he emerged again and brought darkness with him. The world was covered in a dark veil for a full day, a day on which no one was able to see, hear or feel. It was as if everyone on Azeroth was dying, falling into a deep sleep..

But they didn’t die, though many might have wished it in retrospect. When the world woke up, and the people could see everyone could feel the chains of dominion hanging round the ankles and wrists. Young Malvos had awoken the Old Gods during his short stay in Aszhara and in the span of the single day these terrifying deities had laid their will down on Azeroth and it had crumbled before them. In ancient days the Old Gods would have destroyed everything in their path after their Rising. However, the Old Gods had not been as dormant as everyone expected them to be; they had learned. Instead of destruction, they had come up with a new mean to satisfy their needs:
