Not the best of draws but not far to travel so we`ll have a good following and it`s definately winnable

Looks as though they are already worried!LOL!
"They have a useful right winger, through whom most of their play was directed. They played a fluid 4-4-2, swicting to 4-1-4-1 whenever they didnt have the ball. after falling behind, they stepped it up second half and totally dominated. They will do well in the BSN this year, so we will have to be careful. Andy Gooding plays for them".

How did they know? Did they have spies at every match? Anyway not the most glamourous of ties, and difficult to boot, another Histon unfortunately. Still they haven't got the best of home records.

Like everyone else I'd have loved a home draw but am looking forward to visiting Rushden & Diamonds for the first time. It's not far to travel, which'll hopefully mean we can take a large following along with us.Looking forward to it :D
We seem to be drawn to teams on the A14 ;)

I've been there a couple of times as I used to work in that neck of the woods. I've even graced the pitch there with my dubious footballing skills!
It's a lovely set-up if a bit plastic but sure it will be a good day out. The bar there is pretty nice too.
Also, since they went down to the Conference I'm pretty sure they have been known to close the AirWair stand (where the away fans go) unless a large crowd is expected. So we need to make sure there's lots going so we get the full away end!

Rushden are certainly there for the taking unfortunately we showed them too much respect first half, when we did get the ball down we caused a few problems for them 2nd half ,certainly had the defence on the back foot but our strikers have misfired all season and never took advantage, they looked a solid outfit strong in midfield and will cause you problems going forward but run at them with pace and using width who knows . Good luck my fellow blue square northerners!!

Hi all,
I normally attend most home matches but very rarely go away (shame on me but family commitments and all that). I know this is probably a silly question but is it tickets only and where can I get one. I would really want to provide my support for this game.

Reading this thread, I don't think any of us are "worried" by the draw, we've managed to get a home draw, which is always important.
I hope our lads show your team total respect, you beat Histon so totally deserve that, but we "should" beat you, I'd be bitterly disappointed if we didn't. However, we have have slipped up in the past (Evesham last year  ) so I don't think any of us will be complacent - if anyone is they need their backsides kicked!
We NEED a good cup run this year, our demise has been dreadful, from the top quarter of League 1 to the Conference, and struggling in that for 2 years, before steadying the ship this year. We need the prize money, we need the publicity of a good (long hopefully) cup run - plus we're due one ;)
We're a decent side, nothing spectacular, but we work hard and have a decent attacking line up. We had a recent blip of 3 straight defeats, but have now bounced back with 3 wins, but we have Luton Town on Saturday, so I'm not expecting too much from that - we'll greet you with confidence, but respect I hope.
I doubt the Airwair Stand will be open for you, not unless you're going to bring good numbers, I guess you'll be in the South Stand (seated) but its a good view - hope you enjoy the day and hopefully we'll have a bit of banter across the web beforehand.
Oh, and BTW, the rdfcnet forum closed down ages ago, this is the one you want:

How soon and when and where can we get our tickets????? B)
wigstonknitter - October 26, 2009 10:06 AM (GMT)
I think it will be a pay on the gate job as R & D are only getting around 1200 or so for most home games.
Ground holds about 6500 i think so not an issue
should be a great day out. Asume the worst & hope for the best i think we still have a good chance & a replay would be nice.

Hi to you all, do not read too much into our 3-0 defeat against Rushden, they are the worst full time pro team I have seen.the 2 goals they scored in open play were very poor and had an awful lot of luck about them and their 3rd was a very dubious penalty deep in injury time.We sat off them in teh first half but when we ran at them in the second half their defence was very shaky and their goalkeeper looked very suspect if only we had tested him a bit more. You can beat them, just get at them straight away and put that defence under pressure.Just hope you are not playing 15 men like we were as the referee was a clown and was ably backed up by tweedle dum and tweedle dee on the line.twice in the second half we had one on ones pulled back for offside despite the linesman being 10 yards away from the defensive line.Rant over I wish you the best off luck.

Diddums, those sour grapes sticking in your throat? You lost - get over it !!
If we lose you won't find us bemoaning the officials or saying how poor the opposition are (it 0-3 wasn't it? Close then!) we'll say well done to the opposition and move on, I don't think I'll be bothering to be a sad act and seek out Hinckley's opposition's website in the next round if they do beat us, I'll just come on here and say well done and good luck.
I presume you were one of the Workington fans who was giving it large on our messageboard before Saturday's game?
