Tokage 3gou is my all time favorite gogo song. Ive had it as my ringtone for like 3 years. I sometimes switch to sexy boy by morning musume. that song makes a kickass ringtone for some reason.

poraroido (this song contains all of the special aspects that make GO!GO!7188: frequent rythm changes, Yuu's yoodle/enka vocals, Akko and Yuu's lovely voice blending, a touch of ska, a touch of 50's/60's rock, Akko's wonderfully chuggy bass tone, great dynamics from Taki, all formed as a positive charged sound in an overall high concept form that keeps its tightness throughout.)

GYOTAKU
tokage 3 gou (saving oppinions for later, you'll see why...)

RYUUZETSURAN
kunoichi (the tone and punch for this song is perfect. and really, it had to be, I think if the song were played in a different octave or tone, it'd sound like junk. Yuu's vocals flow very freely in this song, and when Akko's voice joins in it is like magic. The same things can be said for Uminouma. choosing between these two is as difficult as choosing which eye should be poked out, when given the choice by a torturer. but there can only be one, kunoichi is it.)

PARADE
eiga to amefuri no asa (choosing a song for PARADE was really hard, actually. Because as many throw away pop songs as there are on PARADE, there are also some extremely well crafted songs here. As much as I like Shangri-La and expected to list that here, eiga to amefuri no asa sneaks into first place for me. It is a lovely song. Its also one of those songs that when I listen to it I feel something like "This IS Japanese". Hard to explain, but its like the sound of this song is only possible with Japanese and it shows something because of that.)

Esora Goto (Even with the insane quality of the rest of this album, I can quickly and easily say that this is the best song. It seems that whenever a band figures out a way to make a song that doesn't have a discernable seperation between verse and chorus it usually ends up a beautiful thing. Akko lays out her soul here with some of her best composed bass playing ever, giving Yuu's vocals a platform to ascend upon and build up to a striking climax. It plateaus, lingers for just the right amount of time and then almost literally Yuu winds it down with a move that is something of a trademark for her. This song is Damn perfect.)

FAVORITE GOGO SONG
tokage 3 gou (Though the production for the recording is only ok. Live, this song brings a whole new feeling, I wish they would re-record it. This song is tailor made for me. I'm a sucker for a rockin intro. The song has attitude. It has an irregular mesh between the rythm and the lyrics which both change frequently. A rocking solo. The Jam session in the middle. and I'm a sucker for an outro, too =D )


TORA NO ANA
youkai ningen bem (one of gogo's very few instrumentals. personally I think they should do more and just toss them randomly into their albums. This song gets me moving. It has many ups and downs that all feel just right. The tone is spot on. oh yes.)

B-SIDE
Kamisama no Himatsubushii (a hard one to pick because gogo has so many b-sides, all of them quality. This song though, follows in the wake of a trend on Parade. Simpler composition, but highly focused and deliberately formed. less guitar, more bass and drum, which blend into a wonderful punch here. Sprinkle on Yuu's sparkling lyrics and you have a gem of a song.)
