GO!GO!7188 Pulp (3.27.07)
Last year I was lucky enough to attend one of my all-time faveorite Japanese bands GO!GO!7188 very 1st USA performance on 3.11.07 at the Knitting Factory in NYC!! This piece is a tribute to GOGO, that show, & my fave girl, Yuu, setup like a "pulp style" cover or t-shirt, & inspired by the 60's & 70's exploitation film grindhouse-style surf-rock that seems to fuel GOGO's wonderful music!

I reworked my previous art for the "Pulp/Japan Nite" image to reflect Yuu's new outfit with a new background to reinterpret the orange & black theme of the new US tour merchandise. This was GOGO's 1st solo tour & I was lucky they came back to the Knitting Factory in NYC for 1 of their 3 US stops... one of THE BEST concerts I have ever seen!!... New Tour, New art!!

LOL!!! Yes it's me... I've wanted to post these 2 artworks, my GOGO collection, & my GOGO concert pictures here for a looooonnnnggg time, but just never seem to find the time. That's gonna change & I want to post all of that sometime this year as I am proud of all that. :lol:

I hope to do some more GOGO art down the line, & even more hope to see them again live here in the US for some nice inspiration... :o

It's great! Very nice fanart :)
But I thinkyou should place the eyes... ehm... not close like this to each other.
I like Yuu's eyes because they leave this space between each other lol

EDIT: Well, the more I look at it the more space seems to be LOL

Yuu's my favorite... I might do a fan art of Akko sometime too, or the whole band... hopefully I'll get that chance.!!

Good job on Yuu's face, I never get that right.

You know, Akko and Turkey both have specific characteristics (like Akkos teeth, or her lips) which will make them instantly recognizable on fan art, but Yuu just never looks like Yuu when I try to draw her.
