Nothing much to say, a new live called 6.21 JIKEN (roku ni ichi
jiken). Like a continuation of the 9.21 incidents live. The live received this name cause of a strong typhoon that hit Tokyo at that day. I'm guessing this will be their new live cd... :o

July 16th news:

A new DVD live will be released this japanese autumn (september ~ november) with the 6/21 live performance held on Hibiya Ongakudou "6.21 jiken" (6.21 incidents).

Even though she can't hit the highest notes as easily as when she was younger, I think overall Yuu's vocals are better than ever---especially live.

I think they will release both a dvd and the live album for 6.21 Jiken.

It makes sense for 2 reasons:

1. If they are gonna go through all of the trouble to record and mix an album, shoot some video along with it.

2. gogo's new label I'm sure is eager to get out a proper dvd release. They've already been putting out little dvd things all over the place, seems like they have ants in their pants. besides that, gogo hasn't put out a proper dvd in a long time and they now have a lot of awesome new songs to support one.

About ballad: It sounds a lot like modern gogo. I imagine this version of it will be somewhat changed in sound. What with their veteran status, Yuu's ear for her guitars. Akko making better bass lines for slower songs. It has potential to be a pretty great song, really.

So why would they pull it out of the hat?

Well, Artists often do not forget anything they create. So I'm sure its been in their minds since the day of creation.

but, I have two main theories of why it is suddenly showing up.

1. They recently changed labels. Artists usually change labels for more freedom. A better contract. Yeah they are probably getting payed more, but freedom is really what musicians are after I think, when they switch labels. So maybe their old label heard that song, "hey, that song you are playing recently, it was nice but what the hell? it doesn't sound like you at all. don't even think about doing that again!"

So maybe now with this new label, gogo can sort of do what they want. It sort of feels like that now anyways.

2. Fans.

Gogo seems much more aware of their fans nowadays. Especially now that they have travelled to America and atelast for awhile had some regular communication with a few hardcore fans.

I dunno what Japanese fans are like. I dunno what Japanese fan response is/was to "Ballad". But based on american response, gogo must have realized that "Ballad" is a legitimate force for a good song. A song that will sell their band even more.


and again, "ballad" just sounds like modern gogo. so either way, it makes sense even if my theories are completely wrong---which they probably are. but I am musing myself here so thanx for reading ;)

Actually, I am taking a close look at that setlist and it is REALLY good.

really, they just need to replace some of the songs that have been played a lot (thunder girl, jetto ninjin, etc) with a couple more 569 songs.

I've been disappointed in the gogo pirates lately, too. gogo have been doing a lot of stuff that hasn't been leaked (1/18/2008 I'm looking at you!)

I seriously want to hear him sing messing up on the lyrics makes it cooler. Like when ayu-chan forgot her lyrics multiple times, lol. But my man-crush on turkey is stronger than ever. That dude is cool. I want to hear him sing.

But what is it with people not getting bootleg gogo stuff? Is it that there is not enough demand or the people who do it are not doing because they don't like gogo anymore?

Concerning bootlegs, it's possible that Breast didn't really care, but BMG Japan does.

GO!GO! needs to take a page from Frank Zappa and record nearly every show themselves. And if someone does bootleg it, buy it from them.

Zappa did this, and because of this, he had a room in his basement that's full of tapes. Even though he died in 1993, friends of his go through it and release more albums with the unused material.
