Title: TEN NO MIKAKU
Description: AND SHIKAKU

Macaroni-kun - August 18, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
Talk about the awesomeness that is Yuu's solo album, ten no mikaku. Seriously, kuro mitsu, ama no jaku, and azuki make the album. azuki may not be my favourite song of all time, but I will say it is one of the best songs ever written. Oh, and then near the end of ama no jaku when she's singing the chorus (which is totally awesome) that choir starts going "ohhhh OHHH" in the background, which makes for the best moment on the album.

Now, let's talk about TEN NO SHIKAKU! The DVD that is. Isn't it neat how the DVD has a seperate name than the album? I was a little bit let down, as YesAsia made it out to have a PV for each of the ten songs. But it's still awesome anyways. And WEIRD! oh boy, weird indeed.

For those interested, I'm going to upload the DVD in teh download section. I also put it on youtube. Just look up ten no shikaku or yuu ten no shikaku or something of that sort.

gosh!! this album is soo weird and still good XD i dunno about the lyrics but yuu was born to write songs!! while akko was to write lyrics -ui- (thats why the most cool songs in her album werent written by her) but then the dvd .____. is fucking weird too but I love the shot for shuumatsu!! *-* the unpluged guitar <3 omg really nice album

I love EVERYTHING about Ten no Mikaku/Shikaku...
that pinkish CD case? the booklet? (the recipe! yummy...) the ten awesome songs? And Yuu herself? Haha! She's a genius!

The DVD was weird indeed and even a little creepy at times, but fun to watch. I loved Yuu's baby photos <3

Macaroni-kun - August 25, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, how could I forget about that. I love how it serves as not only a lyric booklet but also a recipe book. I want to make that stuff, it sounds yummy.

Dana - August 25, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
yeah I want to try the recipe too. But I have the feeling this stuff is very bad for your teeth .. :D

Macaroni-kun - August 25, 2007 10:15 PM (GMT)
Why? Because of the sugar? Pffft, have you ever seen jam being made?

Dana - August 25, 2007 10:41 PM (GMT)
No, but I don't like jam anyway. :P

What? No love for Amai Mizu?

I absolutely love that song. The piano coupled with Yumi's voice is amazing. And the video of it on the DVD makes it almost chilling... but in a good way.

I sent Amai Mizu to one of my friends who is more of a casual fan of GO!GO! and all I told him was that it was from Yumi's solo CD. A few minutes later I get a reply: "Okay... wow, I was not expecting to hear piano." It was an odd arrangement, and it worked very well.

sounded like I need to spend more money :ph43r:

I love love the cd, and I should really listen to it again... It's been a while >_<

Who else gets sick of everyone comparing ten no mikaku to shiina ringo's KSK? I sure do. The only thing I think of when I hear both albums is "I didn't know they had it in them."

I liked it anyway. I thought there was something SLIGHTLY pretentious about the dvd since up until then, yuu was nothing like that.

I wish there was a bandscore book.. out of curiosity.

i think the best song in Yu's solo album is "Mitsugutsu" !!!! it reminds me of "Aa Seishun" Different speed through out the song... and it makes me thnk of ancient india and china. (background sounds) its awesome hahaha...

I never heard this album... But from the talk, it seems I should. Yuu's solo album, huh? Well I hear it compared to ringo-hime's ksk album, thats a feat in itself. I will definitely check this one out!

Ah, yes! How I love this album to bits. <3 I love how it showcases a more complex, diverse, and fascinating side of Yuu's personality. I can't get over how different it is from her contributions to GO!GO!'s albums. I never understood the comparisons to Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana(one of my favorite albums of all time, by the way), but I do think it's a masterpiece that, by all means, deserves a place among Yuu's best works. I never got to see the DVD. What is on it?

Ten no Mikaku is an amazing album. It really shows off Yuu's talent with a lot of different compositions.

The DVD is what absolutely blows me away though. Some very interesting and bizarre stuff on the DVD. The old man walking her on a leash was pretty odd. Great stuff!

underwaterthing - January 19, 2009 10:46 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Ten no Mikaku is a masterpiece! It made me pay more attention to GO!GO!'s albums, so I'm grateful to it for that.
