Title: Reveal your AXE!!!

Toptube - February 23, 2008 04:32 AM (GMT)
several people here have a guitar, bass, or both!

Let's see 'em!

Parameters:

tell us the brand and model name of your guitar/s.

pic size = 640x480 or larger

at least one pic of each guitar must show its entire length.

acoustic guitars are welcome if they aren't just yellow with a brown thing around the hole...

any archtop or hollowbody is welcome.

bonus points if you include yourself in the pic doing a rad pose.

3x multiplier for GO!GO!7188 related stuff in the shot.

Here's my spankin new Lace Helix passive bass (single pickup version with 6-bolt neck) the pickup is some new design that Lace just came up with. (yeah yeah I already posted this but I moved it here)

I've also got an black Ibanez GRX-40 electric guitar. Its a budget model. I played it for about a year and a half but stopped because my heart wasn't in the electric guitar. That was before I found gogo and may change now that i'm learning bass...

*I've got a couple pics planned but I'm wating for my amp before I post 'em

**for some reason my first pic doesn't always load...

I just started... although, my dad has been playing guitar since he was a teenager, so I've grown up around guitars my whole life. I just recently started taking classes.

My dad lets me borrow his Danelektro U1 Reissue for class and stuff. The only reason why he bought it was because his name is Dan, and he liked the 50s look and feel of it. Plus, it was $100.

It's hard to see in the picture, but it's got rainbow strings thanks to my younger sisters when they tried learning guitar before realizing that my dad is a really bad teacher to his kids. -ui- I've just been too lazy to get new strings, plus, strings aren't cheap.

Other guitars my dad has: 1996 Parker Fly (his main and most favorite guitar), A Telecaster that's similar to this, A '96 Stratocaster, an Epiphone Acoustic that he never plays, and a Fender Bullet (cheap Fender Stratocaster from the 90s, think Squire but before Squire came out).

Drums are what I've always wanted to learn and is the only instrument that my heart really wants. I love percussion. But I have never had a place that would accommodate the noise or the space :(

I think the bass isn't too far from my heart though, It feels like a good match even this early.

Toptube - February 23, 2008 10:29 AM (GMT)
Kenshin, your axe appears to have a "thru-neck".

in the case of your axe, I think that screams quality :)

Primushead, that is the entire 50's in a guitar right there.

AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAA Louis axe pwns

Yeah. Danelelectro used to make a bunch of guitars and amps in the 50s and 60s. They were sold in 1966 and then shut down in 1969. They came back in the 90s and made cheap reissues and 50s style guitars and effects pedals (what they're mostly known for now).

Since they have that 50s look and they're good inexpensive guitars, a lot of people like them.

Plus, check out these guitars:

*jaguar bass img*

yeah those jaguars are rad. a bit expensive for a beginner no?!

haha, I understand though, its good to have an instrument that you WANT to play. I spent $420 on my bass---not quite jaguar price, but definately a fair bit more than most beginners spend. It does have a 2 pickup version with a thru-neck, but its $700+ and actually I read that the single pickup version works out a bit better for tone with its pickup's design.

It's actually my second bass already... ;) I first started bass years ago and bought a Yamaha BB 404, but lost interest and eventually sold it to a friend of mine.

Didn't play at all until I found out about GO!GO!7188 and that they had released score books. Too bad most of their songs are way out of my abilities, but at least some songs are manageable. B)

By the way, it's ridiculous how expensive basses (and everything, really) are here in Finland, and elsewhere in Europe. I got the Jaguar for almost half the retail price by ordering it directly from Japan, with all taxes, customs, and a very fast delivery included - and got the original gig bag, which is not included with export Jaguars.

That's why we need free-trade... =P

Let me know if you want something from USA... maybe we can hook each other up... But then... I don't know that I need anything from Finland... maybe moomin stuff??? :D

it does filter tear gas.

but they make us breath it once a year.

You only have to keep your bed really neat and your lamp straight in basic training. Or for a room inspection. Actually, you don't have a lamp at basic training. but there are PLENTY of things to keep straight, or folded, or neat, etc.

Primushead - March 1, 2008 05:48 AM (GMT)
My friend is at Westpoint, and he has to do the tear gas stuff too.

Doesn't sound fun.

haha, that's only at basic training. we could look at our food though. but no talking, no looking around at other tables or anything. and we only had about 3 minutes per meal.
