Title: Okami art-book
Toptube - February 17, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
I uploaded scans of the Okami artbook as part of a Capcom celebration that is happening on another forum I'm part of. If any of you want it, here it is...
...Click the picture for the download.

the scans were originally some insanely huge resolution and the whole thing was like 2.5 gigs. I resized everything to 1600x1200 and its now 97mb. I zipped it in "store" mode so there isn't any extra compression from zipping.

I'm waiting for the Wii-port, whenever the Japanese version might come out...

Personally I'd get the PS2 version.
the Wii-port is missing the "canvas" texture overlay and the colors are all really vibrant now. It doesn't have as much of a "watercolor" feel to it as the more muted colors did. Really though, that canvas overlay went a long way to pulling everything together visually. shame that its gone.
also the painting controls were damn great with the analog sticks, I don't see them being any better, and actually seeing the control for the rest of the game suffer, particularly the fighting.

I just finished Okami last night... and, wow. I don't think I've ever played a game that has held up such a consistently high level of visual delight over 60+ hours. Even the credit sequence was lovely. To that end, I'm downloading this artbook link now (thanks for putting it up)! Been thinking of getting a physical copy but it seemed to be sold out or kinda hard to get the last time I checked.
Also I agree somewhat with your PS2 recommendation... the analogue stick controls worked fine as the gestures are far from complex. I wouldn't go out and buy a Wii just to play this if you already have a PS2, as the last I heard, there won't be any new content in the Wii version... the guys handling the port are having enough of a challenge porting the original code over to work on the Wii engine. Sigh... the canvas overlay will be missed, but man... I'd probably melt at the sight of Ammy bolting around in glorious widescreen :D
(oh, and any chance for this game to get wider exposure gets a tick in my book!)

Okay I just opened one scan at random from the .zip and it was so gorgeous that I decided I MUST get my hands on a physical copy... to hold... and caress... mmm...
