I thought I'd start this topic since I know a lot of people were inspired to start playing guitar when they were introduced to GO!GO! I had been playing for a while when I first heard them, but it definitely helped me learn new chords and techniques. yuu's songs are so insanely simple to play, but also really fun and interesting.

I loved the "old days" when yuu was using the yamaha SGV. They look like this if you don't remember. They sound pretty good and are generally cheap (I've seen them on ebay for about $200 - $300)

I'm far too shy/bad at guitar to start recording my own covers and post them on youtube, but there are some great covers on there (as well as some bad, but you know, it's mean to make fun of people even though I think if you suck, why bother humiliating yourself on the internet?!) I thought this cover of A was really awesome. If you click that username, there are a lot of other GO!GO! covers as well. Of course they are all played on yuu's signature fender guitar! So jealous!

I have a Japanese Jazzmaster since I'm a jerk and I had to have the same guitar that both yuu and hisako from number girl play... hahaha. Ordering a guitar straight from Japan sure is an interesting process.

Oh? At least getting a bass :P guitar from Ishibashi went pretty smoothly. Fender Japan just seemed a little sluggish to produce one, but that was probably just bad timing...

I ordered from Ishibashi too. The problem was my computer wouldn't load the website properly so I had to fax everything to them. They were so incredibly kind and patient about it. I love Ishibashi.

Does anyone, by chance, know anything about Akko's bass set-up? Such as the strings she uses and their gauges, her action, pedals used, amp settings. Anything would be nice.

*the bass came with a free, branded soft case that is really nice. its has very thick padding and is shaped and syled like the bass. so that was a pretty cool "thanks for buying our guitar".

That's an Airforce BDU hat. I'm in the Airforce. No offense taken though! especially since that uniform is based off an old Army uniform. We actually have a new uniform now, ABU, but the availability is really low so only maybe a quarter of the airforce has them so far.

I work at the Network Control Center. Basically, maintain the base computer networks of various classifications. My actual job is mostly regarding the software end of things.

I used to be a big hardware nerd and always thought it'd be great to have a computer job----and its fine. easy. But now that I have one, I don't want to do this forever. I end up sitting for most of my day now and its sorta lame.

Day to day though Military life is pretty damn good/easy. I never thought existing day to day could be so easy. I don't have to worry about many things/expenses that most people would otherwise have to deal with. It'll be quite a reality check when I leave the Airforce.

so yeah, I'm under a 4 year contract with just short of 2 years of it already finished. I'm not planning on staying longer than that though. After 4 years I'll take my G.I. Bill and go finish out college and most likely study abroad at least 1 place (likely Japan).

55bryan posted a new video of what I assume is a HOW TO PLAY jetto ninjin. would probably benefit those who don't have a very good ear for finding on their fretboards what they hear on their CDs.

Maybe I'm crazy but it looks like Youtube got rid of the "date added" option for sorting. and now their sorting is broken and doesn't actually put videos in the correct order of newest to oldest. It also completely misses some videos...
