Yahiko - October 26, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
in a GO!GO! forum, what I could suggest is... Tokyo Jihen and/or Shiina Ringo.. but I know almost everyone here know them... so I suggest you guys to listen to
Do As Infinity... it's my favorite band... I apologize to the ones who thought GO!GO!7188 was my #1 band :( but Do As Infinity is ;_; infinite.. got it? D: They debut on 1999 and split on 2005 ;_; I cried a lo ;x I suggest you guys to listen to their 5th album called
GATES OF HEAVEN it's their best album in my opnion, even better than their compilation best albums... but by the way, I just uploaded a song by them called
nice&easy it's indeed nice  it was released firstly in their best album
Do The Best as an exclusive track (something like kamisama no himatsubushi) and later it was released on their
Do The Best: Great Supporters Selection, an album with tracklist chosen by their fans (and that includes me ;DDD)
http://goear.com/listen.php?v=bc6c231 here it is ;D
here is the poll they did to make the Do The Best: GSS tracklist, the blue ones are actually in the album, with that u can see which are the most popular ones ;D

She told me that 569 is her favorite album so far and she was surprised that I have listened to her Aoi kiretsu cover
Yahiko - November 21, 2007 04:35 PM (GMT)
she visited the forum :D
I told her about the forum and that should have the same luck as ataru nakamura (from the tribute album also) who signed with avex trax. I told her that i like 569 too but ryuuzetsuran is still my fav one

Did you make the website alone? It looks a heavy work. You're amazing! ATARU NAKAMURA is a very popular singer.I work hard to release my CD,too.
I'm sorry if my writing in Japanese and English is difficult to read!I'm not good at English... |

Awesome :)
I'll have to listen her song soon...
Oh, and I'd like to recommend Tsukiko Amano. I haven't heard much of her music yet, but I like what I've heard this far.
[Edit]
You should create a subforum for Hitomi when she has released her album :D

I have recently fallen in love with Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Looong (up to 30 minutes) instrumental songs :D

Recommending in the vein of GO!GO!...
Ougi Aina
Her stuff is actually not so much like gogo but it's really great rock stuff. More like Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, but she lists Shiina Ringo as one of her inspirations too (tho I dont hear it at all). Her best release is "Nippon no 150cm". Great stuff.

I'll recommend Mayumi Kojima (小島麻由美)
she's a jazz/blues singer from tokyo. she first got into contact with american music from the 50s in high school, and wanted to make similar music from that time on.
she wrote her first song "manatsu no umi" at 18, sent it to a record company where she was promptly taken under contract.
she debuted in 1995 with "kekkon soudanjou"
http://youtube.com/watch?v=XOz7xI3jFPs(video is animated by kojima herself XDDD)
some of my favs:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=-TJzW81AlDE"Fuusen"
that was for the same show (?) where GO!GO!'s mushi 98 is from, right??
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ruYI27cXk18 "Poltergeist"
http://youtube.com/watch?v=wViIav3cKRo"Blue Melody"
Well, I got 3 of her albums in the mail the other day.. what can I say.. I think she's becoming my second gogo or someting. I love every single one of her songs <3
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
It's a shame she's not very well known, although she has been around for so long!
Oh yeah, I forgot: Some of you miiight know her from a commercial for a Mario game (or Nintendo in general, I can't remember). The famous song is called "Hatsukoi", but I don't think it's on YT. :(
kenshin01 - February 15, 2008 04:15 PM (GMT)

Dana - February 15, 2008 05:39 PM (GMT)
I was suggesting this artist and for some reason I didn't want to split it into two separate posts in two separate threads
