The details for the Winter II Session Team Tournaments have been finalized and are summarized here:
Round 1 & 2 Playoffs:Each 4-team (or in some cases, 3-team) division will play their first 2-rounds on their normal league night (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday) on the week of April 28. All 4 teams will meet at one bar, which will be chosen by lottery from each bar within your division. The top seeded team will play the 4th seeded team and the 2nd seeded team will play the 3rd seeded team (seeds will be determined based on the standings as of week 7). Each match will be BEST OF 5 TEAM 801. The two winners of the round 1 games, will play off against each other in the DIVISION FINALS, also BEST OF 5 TEAM 801.
In the case of 3-team divisions, the same rules apply above exept the top seeded team would get a bye in round 1, and only have to play the winner of the #2 versus #3 match in round 2.
The Division Champion will be invited to the Team Tournament Finals (see below for details).
The host bar for Round 1 & 2 will be chosen based on a lottery between the other bars within the same divison. However, if no lottery tickets are sold for any given division, it is possible that the host bar will come from outside of the division. For more information on the Lottery process
CLICK HEREWINTER TEAM TOURNEMANT FINALS:The team tournament finals will be held at the Diamond Mine (formerly BJ's Diamond Mine) on Saturday, May 3rd. A separate champion will be determined for each level. Silver (15 division winners) will begin play at 12 noon, Bronze (6 division winners) will begin play at 1 pm, and Gold (4 division winners) will begin play at 2 pm. The format throughout this tournament will be BEST OF 5 TEAM 801.
No entry fees are required for the invited teams. Payouts will come from lottery ticket sales, as well as added money from Diamond Mine.
Since all nights (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) will be combined for this tournament, there exists the possiblity that 1 player may be playing for more than 1 team. In that event, a mutual decision by the captains (or failing that, a coin flip) will determine which team that player will be allowed to play for.
BLIND DRAW WILL FOLLOW THE TEAM TOURNAMENTS:An OPEN Blind draw will be held following the Team Tournament Finals, at approximately 7 pm. Entry fee is $5 (plus $5/head added in by the bar) with a 100% payout. All darters are welcome!!!
There will also be mini blind draw tournaments held throughout the day ($5 entry/100% payback).
