Title: Bar Wars
Description: Should it stay? Or just fade away?

Post your thoughts here.
For reference, last year's promo is at http://darter.org/wars/BarWarsFinals.jpg
and http://darter.org/wars/05BarWarsResults.htm and http://darter.org/wars/05BarWarsCDCw.htm

Preliminary discussion for this event is to begin at the Sunday September 18 Cleveland Darter Club Board of Directors meeting [10:00 am].

If you can't make the meeting, you can join in here.

Basically, we need some people to help plan and run the event - mostly run it. And, of course, anyone who has participated in prior years is encouraged to offer suggestions and/or commentary for those who are unfamiliar with the tournament series.

Let's hear what you have to say!

I like Bar Wars for several reasons.

One, it’s a great way to offer a Club-Sponsored event/tournament to those local taverns who are great supporters of league darts, but may not have the capacity to hold trails or other league-sponsored tournaments. I like the idea of the local tavern holding their own “in-house” tournament to determine their bar wars representative. Hopefully, the “ringers” out there will respect the idea that the local tavern’s tournament should be limited to those individuals who regularly frequent or play league in that particular tavern. This will hopefully encourage more “bronze-level” league players to participate in the process, which is always a good thing.

Also, I like the fact that the CDC champion ultimately faces off against the LEDA champion, creating a friendly rivalry between the two organizations, another good thing.

Finally, it gives me one more excuse to get out, knock down a few pops, and play darts. Now what better reason can there be than that!

My only addition to this is that I would like to see every legitimate dart association become part of the competition; ACDC, SSDL, LEDA....

I'm sure there's a better reason to get out, but in our warped view of the world, we just can't see it.....

Being warped ain't all bad. :P
