Bright lights on liberty island result in the arrest of one Erik Lensherr, also known as the mutant Magneto. how this came about is still a mystery. Currently stationed at a maximum security plastic prison, he is being kept under careful guard in case of a breakout attempt.
The Brotherhood is regrouping under the leadership of the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Rumor has it they will lead just as their father had, and that trouble has only just begun.
Emma Frost has just arrived as a new member of the X-Staff at Xavier's School. She comes with a bit of scandal due to her recent dismissal from the high society group, the Hellfire Club, but the staff has been assured she will be an asset to the team. This remains to be seen.
Colonel William Stryker is making his way through Congress in an effort to get approval for infiltration of Xavier's School, though all his efforts are being kept at bay through the efforts of one Senator Robert Kelly. Coming from opposite sides of the mutant debate it is unlikely there will be any compromises made in the near future. As it is, too many rumors are circulating of Stryker's usage of mutants to do his bidding by unethical means.
