Rangers sign up Jeffers on loan
Rangers have signed Charlton striker Francis Jeffers on loan until January after he passed a deadline day medical.
The 24-year-old has not featured for the Addicks this season and scored just five goals last term.
"This is a good chance for me to reignite my career," Jeffers told Rangers World. "The last two years have been a been stagnant for me.
"I am desperate to make an impact. There are good strikers here already and I'll have to prove myself."
Jeffers, capped once by England, cost Arsenal £8m when they signed him from Everton in 2001 but his time at Highbury was blighted by injury.
He moved to The Valley for £2.6m last summer but struggled to make the team on a regular basis.
It has been a busy day at Ibrox, with Italian striker Filippo Maniero also signing for the club.
Full-back Michael Ball was surprisingly snapped up by Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.
Maurice Ross joins Sheffield Wednesday for the rest of the season while Zura Khizanishvili has been borrowed by Blackburn for a similar timescale.
And youngsters Brian McLean and Charlie Adam have moved to get experience at Motherwell and St Mirren, respectively, again on loan deals.
