| Charlotte came down the stairs from where she had been sitting upstairs, just finishing a letter to one of her friends. She had never been much for the parties that her parents threw, but she knew that she would have come to come down and make an appearence. Meet the man she was supposedly betrothed too. What kind of arrangement was that, his name was supposedly Viktor Krum. Sure she'd heard of his father but that wasn't much to go by. It didn't mean that son was like father. But from what her mother had been trying to make out to her, he was even better. He was much more like his mother than his father. Charlie was meant to work her magic on Viktor so that she could marry him, and as her mother put it. Have many beautiful grandchildren. Charlie had her pride, she had been her father's little princess for as long as she could remember, and she wanted to stay that way no matter how long she could manage it. And after all how was she supposed to know how she felt about this guy. She'd never met him he went to Durmstrang and she went to Hogwarts. And from what she had heard he had a thing for Hermione Granger she'd known the girl barely. Life was so unfair at times, she smiled when she saw her younger brother Michael coming towards her. But he had a scowl on his face, he presumably had just met his betrothed. That was the whole point of this little party, okay big party was for the children to meet and greet. She patted him on the back she had met Adrianna Bowen a lovely girl, maybe a little bit off the top of her head. But Charlie didn't mind her, she was nice and in fact she was in Ravenclaw with Charlie though two years behind. He scowled even more when he saw Adrianna walk over and smile at the two of them. "Good evening Adrianna," Charlotte said giving her, her best welcome smile. But trying not to cringe inside for her brother. She could have been worst she supposed they could have teamed him up with that Milicent Bulstrode woman. Charlotte shuddered inwardly at that thought how anyone would ever be able to marry that girl would be beyond her. Though she was sure that Milicent's parents had a good marriage lined up for her. Why on earth arranged marriages were still around was beyond Charlotte. But things seemed to go from better to worst every single day. Charlotte would have rather married a Weasley if it had been allowed but no, blood traitors and all. Which was actually rather stupid if you asked her. She had met the Weasleys at one time or another and they seemed perfectly nice to her. Family politics she supposed though. The Beaumonts had always followed whatever the Blacks and the Lestranges had done. Though they seemed to be of a dying race now. She walked past her brother and into the ballroom, she breathed and walked further in. She looked over at her parents and saw they were speaking to Viktor Krum's parents Lilyana and Aleksander if she remembered correctly. Why she remembered that was beyond her but she did try ever so often. She saw Viktor heading her way he apparently knew whst she looked like she felt like slipping away and feeling like she had never seem him at all. But there he was upon her, hey he wasn't too bad looking. She had never been one to go with the crowd so she had never actually noticed him before. Even when he was at Hogwarts for the Tri-Wizard Tournament and every girl had chased after him which had seemed rather stupid to her. "Hello Charlotte its a pleasure to finally meet you," he said. Why does he have to talk? With a rather breathy sounding voice mind you. Upfront he's rather gorgeous and what not. But I shouldn't become flustered. Oh good god now he's looking at me strangely. Take a deep breath Charlotte and just say what you need to say. And then find a drink so that he can do all the talking and you can just sit there and nod throughout. She grinned and nodded, and grabbed the first thing she saw. A glass and took a sip. Don't embarrass yourself or else he probably won't marry you. And that probably be a damn shame now that you actually think he's hot. But there's more to life than good looking people. "Hi Viktor ah yes the pleasure is all mine," she said. That sounded stupid why did that have to sound so stupid. He's still looking at me stop looking at me. Thats stupid of course he's going to look at me. She takes another sip of her drink and gives him a huge smile, and she breathes in a little more. Which is kind of difficult because of this stupid dress she was wearing. Couldn't breath at all. Which seemed even more difficult at this very moment than she could have ever thought possible. "So how are you enjoying England again?" Lame girl, lame. |
