boggart:
Tess absolutely hates to feel incompetent so for her to be completely dependent on someone is terrifying because she wants to be able to do things on her own and only occasionally asking for help. She doesn't want to be some mindless twit listening to everyone's beck and call or be a puppet for that matter.
dementor:
The summer before she turned five, Seamus took his family back to his Cork where his parents were for a nice family reunion and vacation. It was there that Tess met and became close friends with Maire, a muggle girl who lived down the street from her grandparents. It seemed from the beginning that they would be inseparable until two months into the Finnigans’ stay that Tess accidental magic let loose and was used to float her friend, who had just wished that she could ‘fly’. Being in her grandparents’ back yard, the crying and scared muggle screamed for help. Thinking that their friendship was strong enough, Tess tried to talk to Maire was rejected each and every time while her twin ran to get their father. By the time Seamus had calmed the girl and ‘obliviated’ her, Tess was crying herself. For the next few days, even though Maire didn’t and couldn’t remember what had happened, she still turned her back on Tess. There was just something too ‘weird’ and ‘stupid’ about Tess that Maire didn’t want to be her friend anymore. It was the first time she’s ever felt somewhat betrayed.
personality:
Taking after Seamus but a bit more extreme, Tess is always on the go because likes to live her life to the fullest. Adventurous, she likes the unpredictability of life because it keeps her on her toes and her mind sharp. With a love for challenges, she's never afraid to take certain things head on and won't back out, not even if it's considered dangerous or impossible. With a genuine love for mysteries, Tess is the kind of girl who’ll sit in the corner all day if it means she could crack the ‘who dunnit and why’. Defying even some of the most conventional solutions, she likes to keep her mind open to other possibilities and think outside the box. To her life isn’t a one-dimensional world but is multi-faceted and constantly changing. Like her Dad and her twin brother, she practically lives for danger and just feeling that rush of adrenaline that comes with it. Her unwavering stance on her beliefs and what she fights for isn’t something she’ll take lightly. Tess is the kind of person who’ll root for the underdog and will always give people a second chance to prove themselves. Curious as a cat, Tess is always prodding things and just looking beyond what she sees. Ever since she was a child, she's love to root around her house, solving wayward cases of ‘missing things’ and ‘who drank all of her favorite juice’.

However, it doesn't mean that Tess is fearless; it just means that she sometimes blind to the things around her and will run into things without heeding the consequences. She doesn't mean to do that it just happens. It’s why if there’s a bully around picking on someone who’s defenseless, Tess will jump unheedingly to their defense, even if it means that she’ll get beat up for it in the process. She’s a little rough around the edges and maybe she should pay attention more and think before she acts but again, that rush of adrenaline is what she lives for. However, no matter how much she’s willing to protect people, her issue with trusting someone is something completely different. Yes, she’ll come to someone’s aid but that’s it. Tess doesn’t ask people to trust her nor does she offer it. Her ability to trust people began to chip when she was four years old and from the broken promises and lies told throughout the years, she had stopped learning to trust others unless they gave her a valid and huge reason.

Even if she can’t trust other people, Tess is a rather stubborn and argumentive young woman. Opinionated and loud, she can be obnoxious and too independent for her own good. The fact that she hates people telling her what to do means that she’ll need her family and close friends to knock some sense into her. Very independent, she doesn't like to ask for help even though she knows she should. With a somewhat low self-esteem, Tess tends to beat herself over mistakes as small as a pea. It's why Tess hates it when people tell her what to do because then she'll feel incompetent and will beat herself up over it. With a strong independent streak and a head hard as rock, Tess's also has a temper that's as famous as her Irish roots. She's not afraid to have her opinions known if someone rubs her the wrong way. She’s annoyingly honest and sometimes doesn’t know the meaning of tact. If she's irritated or angry enough, Tess won't even be afraid to throw a punch or throw something. Yes, she can be a violent person but most of the time she's a friendly and fun person to be around.

Compassionate and friendly, she'll always be there for her friends and won't hesitate to help any of them if they're even in need of her help. Loyalty runs strong in her blood and if you were to ever betray her trust, you might as well be dead to her because there are no second chances for something as big as trust. Betrayal of any kind is something that Tess considers to be one of the worst acts anyone could ever perform.

[ take a look back in time

parents: Seamus & Lavender (nee Brown) Finnigan
siblings:
[»] --- finnigan [seventh, eighteen, gryffindor] * [DA]
[»] --- finnigan [sixth, sixteen, hufflepuff]
[»] --- finnigan [fifth, fifteen, ravenclaw]
history:
As the oldest of four children and born alongside a twin brother, Elisabeth had lead quite a colorful life. From the moment she was born and till she saw her twin placed down beside her in the hospital crib, her Nana had predicted that they would be a handful and they were. As close as siblings can be, the twins (despite their gender difference) often thought with one mind. If Tess cried then her brother would cry and if her brother was hungry, so was she. For the new parents, it often presented a problem because they would often become confused and annoyed that they didn’t know who needed more attention. Especially with the midnight feedings, the moment Lavender announced that she was pregnant again, Seamus wasn’t sure if they were ready to handle another child. When Tess’ second brother was born, the twins were already in their ‘terrible two’ stages just as the other one started on his midnight feeding frenzy. With a rather full house and hand, Seamus and Lavender’s wish to wait a few years before having another child vanished when their second daughter and last child entered the household.

Growing up, Tess and her twin brother was inseparable, reminding Seamus and Lavender of the Weasley Twins during his school years. Although the only difference is that these two were much easier to handle and didn’t cause as much hair-pulling experiences for their parents. Of course that didn’t mean that there were numerous times when things happened like Tess falling out of the tree or her brother falling off his broom, almost caused them to have mild heart-attacks. Always daddy’s little girl, Lavender was rather disappointed that Tess was more interested in things like Quidditch and reading Seamus’ muggle mystery novels, instead of playing dolls and dress-up. However, even though she didn’t turn out the way her younger sister did or do any of the things Lavender wanted her to do, she still loved Tess unconditionally and would often yell and scare Seamus for putting her ‘baby’ in danger. Protective and in-charge, she loved and got along with her younger siblings rather well and was always there for them when they needed her. It made her feel important and like a grown-up when her younger brother and sister asked her for help or needed something.

Like her parents before her, Tess and her twin were the first in their family to receive their Hogwarts letters. Their first train ride to the magical school was wonderful and awe-inspiring. The fact that she loved solve things and challenges, she was blindingly excited to be sorted and like her parents, she too was placed in Gryffindor although the Sorting Hat had considered placing her into Ravenclaw. Joined by her twin brother, they more than caused a little trouble for their house, but all in good fun. Intelligent and always curious, her school years were nothing short of exciting as she studied for her classes and looked around Hogwarts to see if she could uncover any of its secrets. However, making friends on the other hand was hard and almost impossible. Although Tess was lively and pretty outgoing, she found it hard to trust the people around her, which was extremely hard when someone tried to get her to open up. If anything, other than family, only her Gryffindor year mates knew more about her and very few outside her house or her year could look past her rather hard and extreme exterior. When she was given the opportunity in her fourth year to join the DA, she took it without ever looking back. It was a good thing that she did though because, it wasn't long before the beginning of her seventh year that her younger brother was taken. Protective of her siblings, Tess felt that she had failed.

QUOTE
Hogwarts was just around the corner once again as the Scamander family bustled around to buy the needed school supplies as well as run a few errands (which would eventually become more than a few). As much as she needed to get things done Angelika was rather much more interested in the ice cream parlor the family had just passed by. In the rather humid weather the treat looked inviting and very refreshing to be sure. However, looking back at her brother's retreating back, it was probably safer to just tell them where she would be before her father had a heart attack. Sighing, she gave the parlor a last glance before speeding up her walk to catch up. The fact that she was craving the treat did little to get rid of the irritation she felt growing but Angie knew better than to wander off without notice. The last time she had done that, her mother had been scared that the Blibbering Humdinger had taken her away to be eaten. As much as she knew that wasn't true (since Angie didn't think they existed), she didn't dare argue when her father was lecturing her. It had been a while since the family had gotten a new set of robes so here they were at Madame Malkins. The first to be measured and fitted for new robes, it didn't take long for Angie to pick out the robes she wanted. Luna had tried to get her some accessories but had declined and instead asked to go to Florean Fortescue's. Her mother was somewhat skeptical before relenting, “But please stay put until we come and get you Perse. We won't be long."

Nodding her head, Angie happily skipped out of the shop and down the street. The crowd had grown just a bit more since the family had arrived earlier and since it was a weekend, the streets were filled almost to capacity that she was surprised people could still walk. For a brief moment, she imagined a sardine can with the people packed into it like they were packed into the street. It caused her to giggle for just a bit before she headed towards the parlor. Opening the door, she heard the little bell tinkle to indicate another customer as she thought about what flavor she wanted and in what way. The line wasn't too long and the cooled air felt wonderful on her skin. Angie had opted to wear a light blue sleeveless blouse and white shorts today instead of her robes. If she had chosen her robes, she'd be roasting like her sister right now. The only embellishment that she had one was the apple token on her shoelaces similar to her mother's radish earrings. It looked rather childish but at least they weren't on her ears. When it was her turn, Angie glanced briefly at the menu behind the counter before ordering a chocolate cherry sundae. Handing her money over to the clerk, she was handed a number before she turned around to look for a table.

The tables looked to be full, which made her slightly disappointed until a woman and her child got up from a corner table and left. Rushing towards it, she sat down before anyone else could as the table magically wiped itself clean. The table was situated in the corner of the shop by the front window. Although not in the direct sunlight, it still got quite an amount of it. Touching the glass with her index finger, she quickly pulled away when she felt the hot pane. Someone cleared their throat and when she turned around, she noticed another clerk looking at her funny before handing her the sundae and left. With a shrug of her shoulders, Angie happily picked up her spoon and took the first bite of her sundae. The way the cool sweet slid down her throat was welcoming and felt absolutely wonderful against the outside heat.

Checking the clock on the wall behind the counter, Angie noted that she had more than enough time to finish her sundae and still wait before her family would come looking for her.
