- Many vampires will tell you that there worst memory consists of the three days they spent undergoing the transformation. While that process was just as painful for Liam as any other vampire, he wouldn't count it as his worst memory.
He had already been a vampire for more than 20 years when Liam Leostat decided to strike out on his own. The life of a vampire, all the death and blood, he couldn't handle it for very much longer. in 1916, when he should be near his death at 60 years old, he left his creator and went out into the world on his own. It was really the first time he had been on his own since being turned. For 20 years he wandered around the United States and Canada, but the pull of loneliness pulled on him too drastically. While staying briefly in the "dust bowl" during the time of the depression, he came upon a girl near his age. Liam was taken with her instantly, she was beautiful but most of all she was alone like him. They spent some time together, eventually leading to him revealing his true nature to her. She was taken aback, but when she realised he had no intention of hurting her with his secret, she decided to stay by his side. Before long, she had talked him into turning her as well, a task he thought he could never possibly do.
With his first bite on her soft pale skin, he thought for sure that he wouldn't be able to stop himself from draining her completely. The next three days were the most painful of his life, far more than even his own transformation. He watched the girl he had grown so fond of turn into a monster, all because of him. Liam was heartbroken, but remained by her side as long as she would allow him to.

- To call William Leostat obstinate would be the understatement of the century, no matter what century it was. Once he forms an opinion of something or someone, it is impossible to change his mind. His judgments are rarely rash, allowing him time to really think over his views. If you happen to fall n the wrong side of his opinion, you can count yourself stationary on that side forever. It wont matter what you do or what you say, he's set in his way and not willing to change. When Liam comes to a decision, it's well thought out and likely to have been thought over on all sides. Because he sees the choice as well thought when made, he won't change it for anyone's sake.
It is easy for the vampire to bounce back after things don't go his way. If he has a motto, it would probably be "If at first you don't succeed, try again." As an optimistic individual, Liam likes to think that he can make everything turn in his direction if he just keeps trying different options. While he believes his decisions and choices to be right, they don't always amount to the outcome he'd prefer. When faced with a dilemma, he doesn't let it get him back. Liam will try just about every route to get what he wants and will keep trying no matter how many times he is deterred.
There's something in William Leostat that will never let him rest. Once his mind is set in one direction, Liam will throw everything he has into it. All of his energy could be spent, and he would still be pushing himself toward his goal. When he feels something, he feels it more passionately and more desperately than anyone else could even begin to fathom. While he tends not to keep his emotions on the surface, they are always there beneath, driving him. He is superbly passionate and unwilling to give up on anything without a fierce fight.
Once you have William on your side, you can count on him for anything. He is loyal to a fault and incredibly protective of those he loves. There is nothing save death that could come between himself and others, and even death wouldn't stop him from trying. It doesn't matter who's at fault or what the problem is, if you are friends or kin to William Leostat he will do everything he can to come to your rescue. All of his energy will be expended just to know that those in danger are safe. Once motivated, he won't rest until all is well, no matter what kind of toll it takes on his system.
Always the optimist, Liam likes to keep everybody's mood around him up. He jokes easily and tends to laugh and smile more than frown. It is so much easier to be melancholy and brooding, but so much better for everyone else to be jovial and uplifting. He cracks jokes regularly, making fun of even himself if it brings a smile to someone's face. While he tends to be quick to point out other people's stupidity, William laughs openly at his own faults along with the faults of others. No matter what he's really feeling inside, if he can do something to cheer the people around him, he'll try it. Everyone in hi life is important to him, and he wants to keep them happy, even if he can't keep himself that way, too.

- Born in 1853 to a school teacher and a carpenter, William Butler Compton looked toward a very average life for a boy. That was, of course, until the year he turned nine. Liam was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and in 1862 things in the already hot city began to boil over. The elder Compton male left his wife and son to join the Confederate army, as all the men in the area were doing. Liam still remembers the day his father left, decked out in his grey wool uniform. The main reason he hangs on to such a memory is that it was the last time he ever saw his father alive. Bill died in battle in Virginia before 1864 leaving his wife a young widow and his son without a father.
Luckily, Katie Butler Compton had been a school teacher before she married and was able to make money for herself and her son, not that there was much to be made. By the end of 1864, Katie and Liam had been driven out of their quiet home in Atlanta by General Sherman and his army. It was a few years before they returned to the city of both their births, and by that time Liam was old enough to be considered a man. Once back in the city, his mother Katie caught Scarlett Fever and died, leaving Liam on his own without any real way to make money. He became a bit of a vagrant eventually taking up odd jobs for a local brothel and becoming the favourite gofer of one of its working women. This woman, was not exactly what she said she was. It turned out that not only was she divinely beautiful, it was nearly intoxicating to be in her presence. When William turned 19, she revealed her true nature to him and turned him into a vampire to keep her company.
Liam Compton traveled with his maker for many years, feeding on humans, though not altogether comfortable with the thought. In the 1930's, he parted ways with his maker after a rather large fight and set off on his own. It took him a few years, which was really nothing considering how long he had already lived, to stumble across the Leostats. He took instantly to their way of life, preferring the manner they fed to feeding from humans any day. After being alone, or simply without any real family, it seemed so amazing to Liam to be immersed in an actual family with an actual life. He loved it and happily followed them everywhere. Even across the sea.
Once they got to Britain, about 50 years ago, Amarillo & Isabella thought it might be good to try and fit in with the humans. The "children" were enrolled in Hogwarts, as transfer students of course, seeing as they were far too old to appear as eleven year olds. Their reason to return again was simple. It seemed as there were many advances in magic and magical theory, so it made sense to go back to the school and learn new techniques. This time around, the Leostats didn't have to hide their status at all. The only problem they faced as being known vampires were the attempts to recruit them into Morte Incarnate, something they all seemed to see as wrong.
