dementor:
Ophelia groaned softly, her body felt as if it were on fire and she could barely move. All she could do was lay on the stone floor and groan, hoping someone would find her. Her parents were out, they were gone for the day in London and her sister was inside, possibly sleeping. Ophelia had known it was unwise to climb that tree but the flower hanging on the branch had been far too tempting. Delicate and white, she had wanted to study it. But the furthur she got up the try, the more unbalanced she became and then one false step and she had plummeted to the ground.

The pain was so extreme, she felt as if she might die from it. She felt something warm and trickling down her face. Reaching up a hand she touched her cheek and pulled away her hand to find it stained crimson with blood. At that she screamed, she screamed to see her own blood afraid that she was dying, afraid that no one would ever find her and she would die there on the stone beneath the tree.

personality:
People don't know who she is, she is the very epitome of anonymous. Ophelia Dawlish has the power to make waves, she was the skill and talent to be well known, to be powerful and yet she is this unknown girl. The shy little Ravenclaw who spends more time with her books than with real people. She lives outside of reality it seems, that one thing that people can say about Ophelia. It is as if she walks in a different world, people certaintly seem to think she is a bit of a nutter. From the time she entered Hogwarts, anyone has ever noticed her has always pointed out the fact that she is odd. She walks through the halls with her nose buried in a book rather than watching where she is going, she tucks quills behind her ears as if they were some sort of accessory. Perhaps the thing that solidifys the theory that she might be crazy is the fact that she talks to herself. Whenever she is working on her homework or even when she is just walking down the hall, she mutters to herself. The truth is that it just keeps her thoughts straight in her head but people see it as a quirk that borders on insane.

Ophelia is incredibly brilliant, that is the main reason that she seems to walk in worlds that others can't even imagine. She sees the world in a very different way from most. Her brain connects patterns with amazing ease, she sees things that others miss. Her mind is analytical, mathmatical, and yet somehow suprisingly creative. The professors are endlessly amazed with her brain, when they read her essays they are seriously floored. She thinks of the subject in ways that make the professors struggle to understand. Ophelia catches on to normal lessons with ridiculous ease, she constantly achieves the top grades of her year and easily passed all her OWLs with Os. She is organized, determined, she loves books and she loves to study. Ophelia truly has wit beyond measure and she is constantly striving to fill herself with more knowledge. Being exceedingly intelligent she is also exceedingly talented, she does things with a wand that blow others away. However, she is not particularly showy either, in fact she constantly undermines her own talents. She tells people that she isn't as talented nor as intelligent as people thing she is. Ophelia doesn't have an extreme amount of confidence in herself and she is afraid of the power she holds becoming a possible target. But in undermining her talents she undermines herself and therefore allows herself to fade into obscurity.

The girl has more sides to her than just being the oddball or the brilliant girl. To those who actually take the time to get to know her instead of just making fun of her will find a good friend. Ophelia is exceedingly compassionate towards other people, she is understanding and warmhearted. Unfortunately being rather socially awkward she has a very hard time expression that. She has few friends and few people want to take the time to really get to know her, more would just prefer to call her "the freaky library girl" and leave it at that. Still, she is gentle and kind, compassionate and loyal. Maybe not exactly the type of friend who would die for you (she is not brave) but she is the kind of friend who will do your homework for you if you asked her. In fact she would do just about anything to have a friend, anyone to care for and who cares for her. So the few friends she has are exceedingly important to her.

Ophelia is no Gryffindor, she has no bravery and no strength to stand up for herself. She is as shy as girl can be, quiet and reclusive and very cut off from the world. Most of all she can be very gullible and is easily taken advantage of. She has no desire to be the leader and no conviction of character that would allow her to be a leader. Without a doubt she is a follower and is easily led around, she will believe anyone who professes to have her best interest at heart. Maybe it is because she likes to believe the good in people, she doesn't like to think that people would be intentionally cruel to her. Either way she prefers to be led rather than to lead, she prefers to believe people rather than be distrustful. Even with all her extraordinary brilliance she still will fall for a smile and a kind word. It is definately one of her weaknesses that she allows herself to be taken advantage of, that she allows people to undermine her talent and intelligence just as she undermines them herself. She definately needs to blossom and to gain some confidence.

This is Little Miss Purity, without question. Because she is so socially awkward she had never really had any encounters nor experiences with members of the opposite sex. She finds the idea of being intimate with someone terrifying and would rather hide in the back of the library with her books then enter the dating world. At sixteen she is as delicate and shy as a flower, still in posession of her virginity in every aspect of the word. She has never been touched or kissed by a boy, she has never done anything to a boy really, she can barely even bring herself to talk to them without turning red and mumbling. Ophelia definately looks the part as well, with her blue eyes and her blonde hair. She looks like an angel and has the purity of one as well. Her innocence is almost painful.

[ take a look back in time

parents: ralph and keira (nee richardson) DAWLISH
siblings: _____, Dawlish (younger sister)
history:
Ralph and Keira were married straight out of Hogwarts, just a few months after the end of their seventh year. Ralph Dawlish was a muggleborn wizard from Scotland and Keira Richardson was halfblooded and from London. The two made a good match, Ralph was intelligent, loyal, and steadfast, quiet and determined. Keira on the other hand was a bit wild, feminine and fun. She had been extremely popular in school, a Quidditch star and generally well liked. People always thought it was odd that Keira would marry Ralph Dawlish, but they were like two puzzle pieces and they fit together quite nicely. When Keira was nineteen she discovered that she was pregnant with the couple's first child, needless to say she was terribly excited and she looked forward to the birth of her child with great eagerness. It was a blustery April morning when Keira went into labour. The birth was long arduous, it seemed like the baby was desperate to remain in the womb. After nearly six hours, an exhausted Keira finally gave birth to a baby girl. Ralph still says that it was the happiest moment of his life when he held his firstborn daughter in his arms and looked down in her lovely blue eyes. Keira with her muggle father had been raised on muggle literature and had always found the name Ophelia (from the play Hamlet) to be beautiful. So their daughter was named Ophelia from Shakespeare and Delilah for Ralph's mother.

Ophelia was raised in Scotland, her father wanted to raise his daughter in his homeland feeling a strong tie to his culture and his country. She was raised with muggle stories, old Celtic folklore told to her by her father and her paternal grandparents (both muggles). On the otherside her maternal grandmother who was a pureblood witch told Ophelia strings and strings of wizarding fairy tales and children's stoires. Really she got the best of both worlds. She was raised in a very nuturing enviroment, amongst her family and her grandparents and various other extended family. Her parents were gentle and encouraging, even with their extremely shy daughter. However, Ophelia was never very close to her mother, she was rather intimidated by her mother's spunk and energy. Instead she was always Daddy's Little Girl and clung to her steady and quiet father. Of course Ophelia never remembered being an only child, when she was a year old Keira gave birth to another girl. Although Ophelia loves her little sister she is always a bit awkward around her as well.

As a child Ophelia showed signs of magic very early, as early as the age of four. Soon enough she began to learn to control it, to use her power even without a wand in her hand. Ralph was quite delighted to find his daughter so readily talented and took it upon himself to start schooling her at home. He began to teach her lessons himself and found her to be extremely bright and exceedingly teachable. So by the time Ophelia got her Hogwarts letter and was sent off to school, she was already well ahead of many of her peers. The Sorting Hat had barely been put on her head when it screamed Ravenclaw, indicating once more that Ophelia would be a girl of extraordinary intelligence.

From day one of her classes Ophelia was impressing her professors, her deep knowledge of magic and its roots, her unique perspective, her ability to catch on so quickly easily made her on of the best studednts they had ever had. It was widely agreed that Ophelia was brilliant and bound for greatness, with her talent. However, to her peers Ophelia was unremarkable except with the fact that she was constantly outdoing them in class. She became the target of a lot of ridicule, jealousy, and of course whispers about how odd she was. Ophelia made few friends and spent most of her time in the library, helping out there and studying. In her fifth year she stunned the examiners at the OWLs and ended up with Outstandings all the way across the board. Now in her NEWT classes she is showing just as much potential but still is not using it to her advantage.

QUOTE
-She remained stock still, watching him approach her from the shadows and she didn't say a thing. Instead she just watched him carefully, waiting for what he had to say, sure enough it was something so typically him. Nikolo really knew how to push her buttons, somehow he just got to her. Druella never knew why she was so passionate in her anger when it came to him but she was, everything he did drove her crazy. Especially those girls, the ones who tripped over themselves for him and ended up in bed with him. Druella knew that she herself was richer, more gorgeous, and more intelligent than any of the girls he chose to spend his time with. There were times she just wanted to shake him! And why was that? It wasn't as if she had actual feelings for him. No. Love didn't exist, Druella held firmly to that. So this must all be a matter of pride.

Ah the hoe club, so he was with yet another member, at least for the moment he would be. There was no telling how long that would last, those girls couldn't hold him, Dru was sure of that. And if one could, well then she had greatly underestimated him. Sliding slowly from the desk, her feet came in contact with the floor with a delicate tap. She straightened her skirt and walked toward him slowly, her eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she walked towards him.

Druella was like an angel in her appearance, she seemed to glow in the fading light of the evening. Her pale skin was luminous in the approaching dark and made even brighter by the addition of silvery blonde hair. She was the picture of feminine grace and beauty, she was a dream. Almost like innocence but never quite that-

"Well excuse me then, I didn't want to interrupt yet another one of your sordid little affairs."

-Her voice was like ice, it could chill a grown man to the bone and her eyes matched. When she was angry her eyes always burned with a cold fire, it was very appealing to many actually. The passion she displayed in anger was amazing, she was one of those few girls that actually was more attractive when she was angry. Druella turned to leave but a moment later she turned back to him, her lips downturned-

"You know Nikolo you really could do better than that! Why must you always go for girls who are below you. You and all your little friends never know what they are missing."

-Druella considered herself one of the girls that was much more suitable for those Slytherin boys. She was everything they could want! So what was with them? Now she had to resort to worthless Ravenclaws who were only around for a little while-

"What are you afraid of?"

-She asked, crossing her arms and staring at him from across the room, always challenging. That was her theory, that all those boys were just afraid of her because she was equal with them. They hated to admit that. Her voice was already beginning to rise and it was apparent she was going to get very angry. And when she got very angry there was often violence involved. Lowering her arms her fists were already clenched as she glared at him-
