full name: elliott waverly abercrombie
explain the names:
    "my parents are evil.
it's a heritage thing. i was named for my maternal grandfather. he died when my mum was young and she never really seemed to get over it so my dad promisd the first kid would be named for him. the fact that i didn't have a penis didn't seem to matter. elliott i was. now, you're probably thinking 'why not go by your middle name,' and that would be a good plan if the same parents hadn't decided to give you a family name as a middle name as well."
nickname: eli [e-leye], el, crumb-face. don't call her ellie, it just gets confusing with the other ellie in her house and year. plus, it's too girly for her. as often as she complains about being named elliott, she likes it better than having a name like Susie or Elloise.
age/year: 17/seventh
house: hufflepuff

dementor:
Elliott was about seven when her worst memory took place. She was playing hide and seek with her younger sister and thought she had found the perfect spot in an old promise chest at the end of her parent's bed. She tucked herself inside among the different blankets and quilts and carefully closed the lid over her head.

Unknowingly, as the young girl listened to her sister count to twenty (and racing through the final ten, skipping 16 completely), the latch on chest bounced closed, locking her inside. She heard her little sister shuffle in the room, opening up the closet and looking under the bed, Elliott grinned to herself, feeling so proud that she wouldn't be found. Paying careful attention to her sister's footfalls, she waited until Elliott was sure the coast was clear to push upward on the lid and attempt to jump free and bolt for the safe zone. Of course, because the lock had fallen forward and latched itself, all she felt when pushing upward was resistance. It was a shock at first, but as she pushed again with her small splayed out fingers she realised her folly. Instantly feeling the terror of her entrapment, she began to cry out and pound desperately against the wood. Eli was trapped for more than five minutes, screaming and throwing her fists against the walls of the box. Eventually her mother heard her cries and ran swiftly to the room, freeing her daughter quickly and wrapping her comforting arms around her. It took the majority of the afternoon to calm Elliott down, and even after that, she could never spend any time in any sort of small enclosed space without suffering an extreme panic attack.

personality:
Elliott Abercrombie has always been a very open and friendly person. Her smile is huge, and she loves to show it off as much as possible. Even as a baby, she was full of giggles and mirth. It never really went away as she grew older and she's quite prone to random fits of laughter. Always approachable and open minded, Eli will attempt to make friends with anyone she comes across. She's a people pleaser, always has been, and tries her damndest to make everyone around her happy and keep them that way. Sometimes this can become too extreme, causing Elliott to allow herself to be walked over and her own feelings neglected. Although, even when scenerios like this occur, the easy going girl never seemed to let it bother her.

Being generally laid back, Elliott is easy to get along with and be around. Full of energy, she hates to stand still or remain in one place for too long a period of time. Outbursts of all sorts, such as odd noises, exuberantly [although poorly] sung songs, and wild dance moves not known at any particular bar or club, are known to escape her small body at random points, always keeping those around her on their toes. She always enjoyed performing, something that transferred easily from her childhood antics to her school life. While being on a stage in front of a large audience is one thing, telling stories and holding the attentions of any small or large group of people is quite similar. Eli is constantly in need of an audience, feeding off of the approval and enjoyment of others.

Often coming off as extremely blunt, Elliott is never dishonest and will tell anyone exactly like it is. She hates liars, despises them completely, and refuses to associate with such people. In the same way, if you cross Eli or someone she cares about [or is even moderately friendly with] you are doomed to be written off until you are in some way proven innocent of any wrong-doing or misdeeds. It is rare that Elliott will admit she is wrong in her opinions of someone, but when it does happen she will admit to her own misjudgement.

Elliott can definitely be considered impetuous and impulsive. Her decisions are often rash and hardly thought fully through. It often gets her into trouble, especially back in her younger Hogwarts days. Many of her Saturdays are still spent scrubbing out crusty cauldrons, polishing tarnished trophies, and reorganizing the caretaker's punishment cards. She has a quick temper, but it also has a short retention rate. She'll curse you and forgive you in the same (albiet run-on) sentence. Elliott doesn't like to have enemies, but if you do get on her bad side, you can find yourself in trouble. More often, she finds herself standing up for her friends and students younger and weaker than herself. She doesn't like bullies and will fight them anywhere they pop up.

Because of her odd antics, constant need to perform and desire to comfort and keep happy everyone, Elliott feels that her best career path would be working as a pediatric healer. She absolutely adores children, doting on them and playing with them whenever she gets a chance. Her favourite job was a summer one when she was at home from Hogwarts over the holidays and she acted as an au pair to a couple of the children from the Abercrombie's neighborhood. All of her mannerisms and more notable characteristics are incredibly child like, so she can relate to children just as easliy if not more than to adults or people her age.

Overall, Elliott is kind of a goof and incredibly proud to be so. She is constantly looking for a new source of entertainment or excitment and is willing to try just about everything once. After reading so many stories and tales, Eli is determined to experience everything life has to offer her. Her basic theory for living is to live each day as if it were your last, never hiding your feeling from others and never going to sleep angry or fighting.

[ take a look back in time

parents: euan abercrombie & romilda vane abercrombie
siblings: one younger sister
history:
"Mum and Dad never told me the happy accident of their meeting, just that it was worth it. I made up a story when I was little involving Dad as a evil spy torturing a man for information. As it turned out, the man in question was husband to a young miss Romilda Vane. She seduced the spy to release her husband, only to fall madly and passionately in love with him. They fled god and country, eloped, and settled to a more sedentary life. Of course, while it was a nice theory, as my mum told me, it was nowhere close to the truth.

"They met at school, of course. Both of them were Gryffindors and both half-blood wizards with one muggle parent. Mum is scottish and dad is Welsh, not that I ever thought that was important. They told Grandmum and Granda he was a paptist, just to make them happy. It was bad enough that mum was marrying a [this is where the grandparents cringed] Welshman, but to admit that he was a protestant on top of that would have ended the relationship. Dad didn't care, and he had no parents to argue, as they were long dead. He was a scholar, and in no way prone to bouts of religious fervour. What he was prone to, was Romilda fervour, and that was much more important than any religion he may or may not have been baptised into. They were married in a small church and moved out to Cardiff where my dad was born and where his family's business was located. Although it wasn't his main job, his parents saw it as a responsibility to help out as often as possibly, considering the job would be his one day. A few years after they were married, I was born. I was the apple, no, the pride of my parent's eyes. Of course, a few years later my sister was born, ruining my single child home fun.

"My dad seemed only to get better at quidditch as he grew older and matured, so by the time he graduated from Hogwarts, the Appleby Arrows had already expressed intrest in his playing for them. While he didn't stay with the Arrows for long, he played quidditch professional for most of his adult life. My mum was perfectly happy being a quidditch player's wife. We lived in a happy little bubble, traveling with dad sometimes and seeing game after game. While my mum actually began to get bored with the games, I never did. I loved the sport, lived for it really. I was a bit of a daddy's girl in that respect also. I got my first broom when I was a year old, and while it didn't fly higher than a foot and didn't go fast at all, I whipped around on that thing as much and as often as possible.

"My obsession only grew from there. I grew up quickly and with a lot of force. I barely ever stood still, only pausing to sleep or eat. Most of my time was spent in our mini quidditch field in the back yard, hugging the back of a broom. I was so excited to head off to Hogwarts and join the house team. Of course, in those days I only assumed I was going to be a Gryffindor, both my mum and dad were. The summer I turned eleven, I was beyond antsy. All the sudden I developed a fear that I was going to end up a squib [not that I hadn't already shown some magic ability, but honestly . . . childhood fears.] So, I waited, biding my time until my letter came in the post. When I finally got my letter, I acted so perfectly blase about it. I was, afterall, obviously a witch. Of course, if blase is described as throwing an ecstatic screaming fit and tearing around the house with no regaurd to mine or other's safety, than yes, blase. I packed my shit up that very day. Of course, I had about a month left of summer, but I was perfectly happy living out of a trunk until September 1st.

"It was a little surprising to everyone that I was sorted in Hufflepuff. Of course, my parents had thought I'd end up a Gryffindor like both of them, but they were proud none the less. It didn't bother me, and I honestly don't think I could be in any other house and have ended up as happy as I am. My first year or more, I tore up at school and didn't fit in all that well. This was mainly because I could rarely stand still long enough to pay attention to what people were telling me. This isn't to say I didn't do well in school. Although I may have driven the professors insane, I threw myself into magic and learning everything about it. I had been given a gift, and damn it all if I was going to let it go to fucking waste.

"Eventually I began to make friends, finding people who could either keep up with me or were just as nuts as I was. I almost regret going home over the summer, not because my home life isn't happy, but I love being constantly around so many people and friends. Considering I'm in my last year now, I have a lot of things to think about. I honestly have no idea what I want to do with my life, probably just travel for awhile. That's really my only goal right now: to see the world."
