Well this certainly wasn't the way Tess had planned to spend her Tuesday afternoon. It was barely the middle of the week, not to mention only a month and a half into the school year when she found herself in the Hospital Wing. Normally it wasn't until November that she would find herself in the world of over-powering herbs and sterility because by then one of her 'extra curricular' potions would have gone wrong and blew up in her face or something to that effect. Today however seemed to be a special day though when she was taken to the hospital wing by one of the prefects, whom she didn't quite get a good look at. If there was one thing she hated about the Hospital Wing, it was the fact that the Nurse usually overreacted too much and would strap some like herself to the bed. It only happened a few times in her school career and trust her when she said she hated every moment of it. Not only did it make her feel vulnerable but it made her feel small, weak, and defenseless. The Nurse must've been in a good mood today though because she only directed Tess to her bed and ordered her to rest.

Just a hour later, here Tess was staring out the windows with a bored look on her face. Sitting up with her elbows as prop, she tried to wiggle her feet and swore quietly as she felt the numbness shock her leg. "Bloody hell." She had only been trying to do a good thing when she ran into two students. After getting out of the Great Hall to use the loo, Tess by-passed a first year wandering the second floor hallway like a lost pup. The poor kid was trying to find his common room when she found him on the verge of crying. Taking pity on him, she offered her help and leading the way, she told him some funny stories about some of last years pranks, teachers to avoid, and some helpful hints. It wasn't until they had gotten to the dungeon levels that she automatically gripped her wand. Tess never understood why the Hufflepuffs and Slytherins shared a floor, it was almost inhumane really.

Once they found the Hufflepuff entrance though, Tess bid him farewell before rushing back to the Great Hall. Of course, in the process of it all, she was caught by surprise by two irate students (most likely a boy and a girl, and rude too) and well... one could imagined what happened there. Unfortunately due to the lack of food in her system and hot temper, she ended up doing more damage than good. With her left hand, she reached over and knocked on her legs a few times but still nothing happened. Frustrated, she let herself flop back onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. She never did make it back to the Great Hall and as a consequence she missed lunch, which led to Tess's stomach letting out a little growl in the process. Glancing around the room, she felt alone in the empty Wing and was saddened by the thought that no one, not even Jamy was around to entertain her. "Great, I'm probably going to get a detention for this," she muttered bitterly.
