“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.”
-C.S. Lewis

The world is never at peace. While millions of citizens live their lives from day to day, happy to have fallen into routines that carry them through the weeks, months, and even years, there is always someone who believes it can be better. The magical world is no exclusion.

The magical world has been at peace for nearly twenty-five years since Albus Dumbledore defeated the dark wizard Grindelwald. Hogwarts has known a few terrors since, but all in all, the wizards and witches of all backgrounds have become comfortable once again in their magical, secretive lives. However, that isn’t enough for some people, namely the Dark Lord Voldemort. He has gathered his followers and as the new year brought on a new decade, the Death Eaters behind Lord Voldemort have begun their reign of terror over those whose blood is tainted with the filthy blood of Muggles: the Mudbloods.

This elitist idealism had not been so pronounced at Hogwarts until now. With the uprising of Lord Voldemort, the Pureblooded students of Hogwarts have basked in this superior movement, and some have even voiced similar sentiments toward the Muggleborns that the Death Eaters have through torturing and killing families across England. This hostile environment has disrupted the once peaceful lives of the Hogwarts students, and it has only just begun. Pureblooded students, especially the ones in the Slytherin house, have taken bold steps against their new foes, and have claimed excellence over those with tainted blood.

The Muggleborns have no choice but to fall underfoot to the haughty Purebloods. After all, they are the ones whose families are being tortured and killed off daily. The Black family is one of the more prominent Pureblood families, and being natural born elitists, they have risen above the rest to rule the Hogwarts roost. Bellatrix Black has graduated from Hogwarts, but her two younger sisters still remain, and still hold high the banner that is the Black family motto: Toujours pur, or, always pure. At least for now.

The Seventies have been dubbed as the years of terror, and Hogwarts is in for some major changes and occurrences. As the years go by, they will become progressively more violent and dangerous. And to think it started with one simple idea…
