- HEART TRIGGER
Ten years ago, a violent epidemic flooded through the entire country. The City of Sentry was hit the hardest. The specific target of the epidemic were the adults, from about ages twenty years old and up, all of them started falling like flies. Pretty soon all adults were dead. The children and young adults were devastated. Thousands roamed the streets. Anarchy was everywhere.
Years passed, and things had died down to a certain extent. Whoever was left in the city tried to live as they used to. The city was self-regulating, with power, electricity, and water all running on their own. However, the young people, the only population left, have begun to see the system have glitches. Sometimes lightbulbs flicker off, sometimes taps stop running. Everyone is on edge, because some day their city might fail them.
That is only the beginning. A few individuals are starting to show symptoms of a strange, unidentified disease. They are the marked. These people start to lose their ability to function in the day. They wake up at night, seemingly in a dream, when they possess strange abilities.
There has never been a time when growing older was such a terrible curse.
