Title: {S}trange {S}ituations
Description: Oh Dorian......

Renegade had come to the library looking for Greer today but apparently he had the day off. She was dissapointed because she had wanted to talk to him again but at the same time she was happy that he had a day off. She was of the mindset that one shouldn't work too much lest it transform them. Since she was already here (and she had effectivly cleaned out the library in the uninhabited lands) she decided to see if they had any books she hadn't read yet.

This was a tough hunt for Renegade and she decided to employ every shadow in the library, shyly tucking herself into a corner until all the shadows had congregated around her. "Alright everyone, I'm looking for new books to read, would you please find some that you'd think I'd like?" she whispered to the shadows of the towering bookcases and sturdy tables that had seen hundreds of books pass their way.

They all squealed happily and ran off to help, even her own shadow wandered off, leaving her quite alone and she didn't feel like admiting it out loud but without her shadow she felt a little naked and exposed. Other patrons could be heard gasping or muffled yells as they spied the puddles of darkness. But it was short lived as they saw her passing, most everyone knew her by now and her strange behavior with shadows (even though it was still weird).

As she perused the aisles herself she became increasingly aware that she was being watched by something other than the humans that wandered the store. Perhaps it was her Dreamwalker heritage rearing it's strange and versitile head but she had the distinct feeling that whatever was watching her was not human. Lights illuminated overhead as the sunset past the large windows and bathed the room briefly in dim darkness before the lights fully flickered to life.

It was then that Renegade found herself standing next to an aisle she hadn't bothered with before, filled with ancient and old texts, if there was anything interesting here, she was sure to find it. As she entered the dark aisle she began to climb the tall lader that resided there till she had perched herself comfortably in the middle and began to browse. She became so interested in what she was reading that she began to ignore the strange feelings of being watched and the shadow's voices faded away till it was simply her and the words in the book.

Why were people so upset about darkness? Dor loved darkness, he loved night and he loved going out into the world while most everyone else was asleep. No crowds to deal with, for one thing.

He had gone to the library to do a little research on this MSI organization... and had gotten quite lost in all of the books. He wasn't one for wasting time with novels but books about history could tickle his mind forever. Especially history that related to him.

"Silly people," he murmured to himself as he put back a book about vampire legends. They really had no idea what they were talking about, those authors. They might as well have just called Anne Rice an expert!

Dor caught sight of a girl floating around on her own, looking at books like a lost soul. People her age weren't usually out at night. People her age weren't usually alone. People like her weren't usually so happily in their own world, especially in a library.

He followed her with his eyes, curious. She'd better be careful or a monster of the night could take her. Dor had to smile to himself at the thought. He'd taken a few girls in his time, more than a few, and some of them had started just that innocently oblivious to him.

He'd just have to keep an eye on her.

A sudden shiver ran up Ren's spine and she almost slipped from the ladder as a result. Quickly she shelved the book that was in her hand and slid down the rest of the ladder, it might be a better idea to stay on solid ground for now. As she exited the aisle she was surrounded by several shadows who were more than happy to show her what they had found. As she leisurely made her way across the library she turned to see a strange man behind her. She fixed him with a curious stare before her attention was again ropped by the shadows.

She followed them into a fiction section containing many books about ancient lore, the book that the shadow wanted to show her was on the top shelf and had a dark leather binding. She slowly climbed the ladder, carefully placing one foot on teh wrung above her, determined not to slip and fall. As she got to the top row she scanned the books carefully till she found the one the shadow had recommended. She took it out carefully and slid down the ladder and landed unsteadily on her feet. This of course caused her to fall backwards onto her bum with a muffled grunt of pain and alerted the shadows near her that she was in "pain".

"I'm fine, really guys!" she laughed as they all tried to help her. She got to her feet and dusted herself off. "Alright, what else did you all find?" she asked as she walked back out into the main aisle again. She looked around for that man she had seen but did not glimpse him at all, she shrugged, maybe she was just being paranoid.
