» the death of blissful ignorance.
Homo sapien has walked Earth for thousands of years. He has walked, starved, survived, and reproduced; he has fought battles, fought wars, and upon those wars, civilizations rose. He was unlike any other animal in that he had free will. Free thinking. And for so many years, he has fought, discovered, fought, adventured, and... fought. But he also had a knack for being unaware of the most obvious things around him. For as long as he walked earth, his brother was just out of sight, and seemed to stay that way for all time. Until now.
The modern age has brought worlds of new life, new thinking. It is the year 2007, and once more, we are at war -- but this is a war unlike any other on a scale never before seen. The extremists, the revolutionaries of the wizarding world have banded together, led by a man known only as Constantine, and have turned the world on its side by exposing the other side of civilization that man never knew about: the magical population. The entire globe is wrought with war, man against man. Muggle against magic.
And amidst the horrific, war-torn times, there are the people who only wish to live like they had since the dawn of civilization. Schools across the world have been forced to close, and in America, several schools were forced to gather into one of the only open establishments left, a world-renowned wizarding school called Cauldwell Academy.
The war is on. Which side will you choose?» the catalyst of a rude awakening.
It's been nearly ten years since Lord Voldemort's defeat, and the world is already in shambles.
Cauldwell Academy is set amidst a full-scale world war, one that has been named Muggles vs. Magic by the wizarding press. Revolutionary attacks, revolts, public protests, and other acts of violence have been considered common since Christmas, 2005, the day that the revolution truly began. It was on this day that an unknown group of witches and wizards made their very first attack within the house of the most powerful man in the world: the President of the United States. Normally, such an event could be covered up with the simple wave of a wand, but this extremist group, these revolutionaries, had chosen to reveal the entire Wizarding world during one of the most televised events in the nation: the President's annual Christmas speech. The amount of Muggles that witnessed the attack, televised or not, had been thousands, perhaps even more, and it was this one fact that prevented the Wizarding Council from attempting to modify so many memories.
The Muggles, of course, had only witnessed the violent nature of the revolutionaries, and therefore assumed that every witch and wizard in the world was like them. Even after all the peace talks and the demonstrations, the non-magical population could not accept the fact that not all witches and wizards were evil. Most witches and wizards all want the same thing, for the world to go back to the way it was. Unfortunately, this can never happen; with such a large-scale war at hand, change is inevitable.
Cauldwell Academy has been literally thrown into this worldwide dilemma, forced to host over twice its regular amount of students since March, 2006. Both students and staff alike are on the edge, afraid for what else the revolution will cost them. Already there have been attacks near school grounds. For the students of Cauldwell, it was a rude awakening; as for the others, it was a cruel reminder of what had caused them to move from the comfort of their homes.
The entire world is falling apart, and unfortunately, there isn't much anyone can do about it. The only thing left to do is pick a side and fight.
