Long ago, in a time before our grandparents and great grandparents, a great nation was founded on the ideals of freedom and equality. No one held these ideals in more regards than the hundreds of immigrated witches and wizards that had escaped persecution at the hands of those they trusted. They lived secretly, teaching their children the ways of the wand, hoping to be accepted as they formed towns and burrows that would hide and protect them from those that would harm them and their families.
Salem was one such town until it became overrun with muggles and a vengeful Squib began what was later called the Salem Witch Hunts. The witches and wizards went into hiding again, hoping for the day when they could teach their children the ways of magic out in the open, be at one with the world and at peace with the muggles around them. In 1864, at the time before the Civil War had ended, the most powerful of the Witches and Wizards left in America created the Salem Institute in order to teach the new generation what wonders they could achieve through the use of magic.
Over the years the Salem Institute grew and flourished, but as the United States expanded and grew larger and larger, it became abundantly clear that a new school would have to be created. With the Salem Institute nearly full to bursting, the most powerful witches and wizards of the new generations created the Langrove Academy of Magical Instruction. Its central location and large campus ensured that for years to come it could satisfy the demands of the coming generations. The Salem Institute still stands today and has been transformed from an ordinary wizarding school into a wizarding college, and only accepts the most talented of the Landgrove graduates.
At the time when Lord Voldemort was terrorizing England and the European neighbors the American community did not go unaffected. Death Eaters caused quite a bit of trouble for the magical government as well as the families scattered across the United States. Though after the Dark Lords demise the Death Eaters were arrested and tried, rumors began flying about the dark times not being quite over. That another storm was brewing to fill the void that was left by Voldemort.
Today the Langrove Academy can boast over a thousand students with the highest Curriculum standards in the world. The children not only learn magic but how to survive in the muggle world by teaching them muggle subjects and employing a few muggle teachers on campus. Though rumors abound about dark magic and a new danger, students seem oblivious as they go about their lives, making friends and enemies, getting the grades and moving on with their lives.
This is the next generation of magic, this is where it either begins or ends, this is the
