Peace was returned to the worlds. Xehanort's Heartless, Maleficent, and Organization XIII have all been defeated. Roxas returned to Sora and Namine returned to Kairi. Riku has his own body back, Ansem (aka DiZ) has perished. The Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee can finally work on rebuilding Radiant Garden in peace. The Disney Castle is left unharmed. With peace restored, what could go wrong?
But something has gone wrong. While Riku, Sora, and Kairi have lived blissfully on their island for the past four months the darkness has been growing. The source of this darkness is an abandoned world, known to some as Desolo Terra. And suddenly...they are all back. Every enemy Sora defeated, every villain that had perished. Organization XIII has returned...and they want revenge. They all do, who wouldn't? Each one has a plan of their own, their schemes and plots slowly churning.
King Mickey, on his travels, stumbled across this new world. At first it seemed like a simple world, completely harmless. except Heartless thrived here with the wild animals. there was darkness seeping out of every shadow. And most of all, shrouded in vines and weeds, the little mouse found an old temple, left in mostly rubble. He could not find a way inside, but there is obviously something inside. And there must be someway inside. Once Mickey left the world he sent a letter to Sora, to inform the boy of this odd world. He warns the Keybearer to be wary of this world, for the darkness is strong here.
Now with old foes revived and a new evil arising the Keybearers must go off to protect the worlds. Along with these events it turns out that Roxas and Namine have somehow regained their bodies. Now our heroes must find out what the Organization is planning, what Maleficent and Xehanort has in store. Who knows what these foes could be planning?
