Okay I wrote this poem and I'm going to enter it into a contest. I want some feedback on it before I submit it though so I posted it here.It starts below.
One step forward, one step back, he tried to resist when the chains grew slack.
His eyes were wild his eyes were black, because he knew there was no turning back.
The room was white and full of light; the people stared at him in fright.
A man on each side he wished to hide, but everyone must pay thier due sometime.
Chains clanking he came to a stop and he could feel his heart drop.
He planted his feet and said, " No, No!" but he knew it was time to go.
They dragged him down to sit on the chair, he begged for forgiveness, but they didn't care.
They went to the wall and flipped a switch, with a buzz and a snap the sinner died quick.
A prieast who watched gave out a cry, " And now it seems the sinner has died!"
A bible clutched tightly to his chest he went ot the chair to put the sinner to rest.
" All is forgiven," he whispered in the dead man's ear as he closed the man's eyes like one he held dear.
" My son. My son." He whispered at last, " Let god forgive you for your sins of past."
With that said he turned away, and never spoke again of how his son passed away.
