Title: Ode to a Tree

Your great roots are anchored
Where, you ask?
Why, deep inside the Earth!
And you have such strength
(drink deep and live on)
So old and poised
You are home to many beings
You give shade in the heat
You help us to breathe
A mother to the leaves
Which you shed every September
When you seem barren and cold
But you sprout them again
Oh-each and every Spring!
Isn't is bizarre how all the little bugs scurry back to you,
Together?
It's the same ongoing cycle
And you stand still and steady through it all
With just a glance and I know of your grace
But I rest my head agaist your frame
And I feel your truth and your strenth
Can I help that I think of you as a mother?

You were here long before me
I pray you will be here long after me....

This is really good, a more indepth look at something that is around us in every day life. Explaining in more detail something we don't take much notice of. I liked it.
