Strangers.

Hello stranger, she says.
For she doesn't know who he is.
They used to be friends, used to be lovers.
What has happened to all of this?

She remembers the days during the summer.
Where his every word had made her smile.
They'd be so close, friends for life.
But... it's been a while.

[ A Night Of Tears, A Night Of Shame. A Night Of Mistakes And Regrets. ]

He'd hurt her so much, but neither had seen.
Until she had broken apart, what it had really been.

He broke her heart little by little.
With every promise he made.
He swore he'd never leave her.
But it had been just that day.

The part the truly hurts.
He'd let her go on and fall.
When all she ever did,
was make sure he didn't get hurt at all.

He likes someone else now.
She can see it in his eyes.
He's moved on so quickly,
But it wasn't much of a surprise.

She smiles at him.
Knowing he's not the same.
The only question on her mind:
What happened baby, are you okay?

So strangers they'll be, forever on.
The memories they'd had, will all be gone.

This was a poem that I wrote for my best friend, Ross...
xx.

wow i really like this! i admire your rhyming skills and how they never sound cliched, and also the whole story is told well.

however, should be changed to

The part that truly hurts?

other than that, great, and very relateable
