Title: Life Story of a Rock

spiderfall - July 27, 2006 04:36 PM (GMT)
Four blank walls, and one empty heart,
One tiny room and nowhere to run,
Yet so dead, he couldn't imagine anywhere better.
A single, deep desire, yet nothing to reach,
A couple of friends, yet no friendship to share,
So crowded, he can't even cover his eyes,
Yet so empty, there are no tears to be spilt.

Three heavy steps, and two feet to carry,
One fallen angel with nowhere to fly,
So weak, he couldn't fall any further.
A single, deep light yet nothing to fill,
A couple of hearts, yet nothing to feel.
So overpowering, he can't look up,
Yet so beautiful, he can't turn away.

Two crossing shadows, and three hearts hanging out,
One faded photo, and nothing to remember,
So loved, he couldn't possibly hate her.
A single, deep love but nothing to grasp,
A couple of chips, but too many cracks,
So unexpected, his life can't fall straight again,
Yet then again, was it ever straight?

One dead thought, and four words left living,
One bright sunbeam, and too many places to shine,
So remembered, he hides from her face.
A single, deep fire, with only loneliness to burn,
A couple of hearts, but no life to fill them,
So deep, he cannot see the light,
But he wouldn't recognize it anyway.

Powerful, poignant and hits the mark.

Again, your rhyming skills are... ineffable. (It's an overly-strong-word-but-i'd-like-to-use-it-anyway case with me right now.)
