Broken Tears

Her heart is breaking
Her mind, she’s losing
There’s no way she can go on
There’s something that is deflating inside her
Something is very wrong

The happiness has left
Her mind is clouded by fear
She tries, and tries, and tries to ignore
The voices whispering in her ear
Asking for something more

They tell her to go back
To fix her mistakes
But that would impossible to her
For she has taken a frightening road
A road of no return

The tears that burn and stain her face
The shaking of her body
If only someone had cared and nurtured
Her poor broken body

This is the story all about a girl
Who lost herself and couldn’t go on

She seems happy to everyone
With a smile upon her face
And eyes that twinkle in the sun
No one realizes that the light in her face
Has drained and is forever gone

She’s lost at sea
Waves tipping her over
She’s close to toppling down
No one sees what’s going on
And if they do, they’ll continue to take her down
