Miracle.
“You never should have trusted him, Tessa,” Katie screamed.
I barley heard her, my heart was pounding so loud. I couldn’t believe this was happening.
“I loved you”, I whispered to Matt.
Matthew looked up at me with deep sorrow in his blue eyes. They were pools of ocean blue, filled with sorrow and regret.
“Shut Up, you stupid bit--“, Thomas screamed in my face.
His name was Thomas, Thomas Patterson. He was the big brother of Matthew Patterson, my beloved.
Katie and I were at their house working on a science project the Mr.Linnard had assigned to the four of us. All I remember was sipping some lemonade and watching Katie fall to the floor. I must have fell shortly after, as my head was pounding. I had been going out with Matthew for at least 5 weeks, I loved him. He was kind and gentle and smart. Most of the other boys at my school were immature and stupid, but not Matt, not Matt.
I had figured out where they had brought Katie and me. We were at Crystal Park, almost all the way to the edge of it. I would come here often because it was so beautiful. An old, wooden bride crossed a stream. The water was quick today, flashes of white foam mixed with blue patches of water rushed by. The trees had orange, and red, and yellow from fall, no green left to see. There was one lonely bench under a large Willow. I would sit there and do homework or read or just think. Today there was masking tape and rope sitting on the bench along with a packed lunch. I had no idea what those two boys were going to do with us, poor Katie will freak when she wakes up, I thought. Thomas came over and started to unload the white pick up truck. He grabbed me and threw me out onto the ground. Another thump, it was Katie. “Tessa, are you ok?” Matt called. “Shut it, Matt”, Thomas said,” Why should you care?” “Move, you piece of trash” I suddenly felt a terrible pain in my ribs, and heard a large and very loud crack. “Shit”, I called. I didn’t mean to say anything, but it seemed Thomas had broken my rib. “Shut the Hell up before I give you something to really scream about”, he called from behind the truck. My eyes began to water and I rolled over to my other side. A groan, Katie was awake. “Katie?” I whispered. “Looks like little Katie’s awake”, he said. Thomas dragged her over to where I was sitting. “What’s going on?” she whispered. “I’m not sure, we’re in the park, by the bench and the big willow tree”, I replied. “And the bridge?” she asked. “Um, yes”, I said, “The bridge.”
The sun was setting; Purple, Orange, Pink. My parents were enjoying the same sunset, about 300 miles away. They were visiting Stone Mountain, Georgia. I was here in Macon. No hope of ever seeing them again, unless I was lucky. “Oh, ladies”, Thomas called out. My thoughts were interrupted, and Katie jerked her head up from an irritable sleep against my shoulder. My stomach lurched, whatever was to come, was coming soon. Thomas gathered Katie up in his arms and carried her over to the bridge. It was a rope bride, with wood planks that were rotting and decaying. Katie was writhing and cursing at him and his brother. I stared up at Matt with all the hatred I could as he just stood there and watched. I crawled over to the bench. Matt must have seen me because he snapped out of his trance and came over to help me up. “Thank you”, I told him. Then, with a grunt I launched myself at him. He toppled over and rolled around a bit. I started to aim my body for a kick, but stopped. Matt was just laying there, he did nothing in his power to protect himself or fight back. What was wrong with him? Then I saw. His leg, his leg was gone. I screamed, I screamed by head off. Matt could never run, never walk, and never play. His pain had consumed him. His brother had done this to him, his own brother. He was in shock; he had loved his brother, but now...
I had read about shock in science class. There was first, second and third stage shock. It was sometimes fatal and never turned out well. I felt every part of my body going numb. I fell over, he looked over at me. I never saw such pain and sorrow in his eyes. Another tear rolled down my cheek and stained my jeans. I started to drag myself toward the bridge. The water was powerful, churning up rocks and dirt turning itself the color of brackish – brown. Katie was lying their, her chest heaving. Thomas had gone to get his pocket knife. I told Katie the quickest route out of the park. From their, she would contact the police. She slowly got up and tiptoed to the edge of the bridge as to not kick up any leave and crunch on them. She was almost to the edge of the bridge when Thomas appeared around the corner. He pointed and yelled something and sprinted over to me. He slapped me, and kicked me until I dropped down and coughed out blood. He rushed over to Katie who was running down the path. He toppled her over, and grabbed her hair. She was screaming and fighting as he stuffed her mouth with cloth and covered it with tape. That’s the last I saw before I blacked out.
Later, I learned he had called one of his school buddies to help him. For his buddies reward, he got Katie to himself.
My brown hair blew in front of my face and tickled my nose. I couldn’t swat it away with my hand because they were tied behind my back. The sky was dark; the light came only from the stars and the flash light that sat on the bench. Jack, Thomas’ buddy was teasing Katie. He was making her kiss him, so she wouldn’t have to suffer and injuries. “Leave her alone, you jerk”, I yelled at him. Katie slid onto the ground, her right eye and cheek bleeding where Jack had cut her. “Thomas, she’s awake!” he said. Thomas came over. “You’re very opinionated”, he said, smirking. “I like mine feisty.” He grabbed me and started to kiss me. Totally helpless I tried to bite his tongue, but he was too powerful, knocking me over he fell on top of me and pinned me down. All I could do was lay there like a trapped animal as his hand slowly slid up my leg. Then I was free, he was pulled off of me and cast aside. Matthew was beating him; with every blow I could see Thomas getting closer to unconsciousness. Matt collapsed, and dragged himself over and helped me up, untied my hands and then gave me a long look. I broke his gaze and sprinted over to Katie who was spitting blood and oil from her mouth after getting the cloth out. We both helped Matt up and then somehow got Thomas into the back of the Truck. Jack was gone, ran off after Matthew beat his brother. I never found out why Thomas had wanted to kill us. Matthew and I are still going out; Katie is fine, no major trauma. Matthew and I help each other through our problems, with everything we’ve been through. In the end I guess I was just Lucky, not being hurt other than a few broken ribs, and a sprained ankle. Matthew now has a prosthetic leg and is going through therapy. This year is my graduating year of high school. Things are as normal as they can be after being through what I have. I guess you could say God sent a Miracle.
Hope you liked it, please write any feedback.
 :)
i liked it alot, good, concrete imagery. anticipating great things from you!!
i'd like to point out this mistake " I must have fell shortly after" SHOULD BE "I must have fallen shortly after"
Thank you for your tips! :) I hope so...I love to wirte and draw....do we have a section to upload images and get reviews on them? we should! maybe we do...i havent explored much! talk later...and thanks again! :D
That's really good!! I would probably make it longer. It doesn't need to be longer. But it would be good to have some more background about the characters.

No problem. I expect great writing from you.
