Title: WeIrDo
Description: a normal girl is branded as class freak

lakegurl93 - March 24, 2006 05:01 AM (GMT)
Chapter 1:

Just because I'm different. Just because I'm unique. Well actually they prefer to call it weird, they all claim to be unique. Hah! As if! They are all like little clones! None of them have a unique bone in their body! Them with all their little Abercrombie shopping bags and their love of pink and most definently the opposite of unique! They're non-nique! I hate them. I hate them all! This is ALL their fault. Okay maybe not ALL, but mainly. Maybe I should start at the begining...I suppose it all started back in Kindergarten...yes quite a long time ago...but you'll see how.

Chapter 2:

A smart little brunette girl steps into the classroom. She's very happy and excited. The teacher walks over.

"Hi there! My name is Mrs. Jameson. I'm going to be your teacher. And who are you?"

The little girl flashed her new teacher a big smile showing her one little dimple on the left cheek.

"I'm Samantha! But I like to be called Sam."

"Well alrighty then Sam! Go ahead and set your back pack in a cubby and start making friends!

The little girl smiled that cute half dimpled smile again and headed off toward the cubbies.

That little girl was me. This is the day that everything went wrong. Though I didn't know it at the time, that day decided my entire future. I've realized since then that if maybe I hadn't been such an outcast then maybe I would be more liked. But seeing as how I forced myself into outcastism, I'm not as well liked as I could be.

I set my backpack down and then looked around. Another little girl, this one was had redish blonde hair, was putting her backpack in a cubby a few down from mine.

"Hi! I'm Samantha! But you can call me Sam!"

The little girl looked over at me clearly frightened.

"Don't scare her like that!"

Another little girl, this one a blonde, came over and stood inbetween the redish blonde and me.

"Sorry. I was just trying to be friendly. My mom says that the way to make a friend is-"

"I don't care what your mom says! You can't talk to her!" The blonde girl turned to the redish blonde and said: "Come with me. I'll be nice to you."

"Okay." The red-head replied shyly.

Colleen looked momentarily upset, but was soon joined at the cubbies by a little boy with brown hair and blue eyes.

"Hi! I'm Samantha! But you can call me Sam!"

"Isn't Sam a boy's name?"

"Yeah. But I like it better then Samantha. Samantha's too long, and it's hard to spell."

"That makes sense. I'm Guy."

"What's that short for?"

"Nothing. That's my name."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"That's cool!"

"Thanks! Sam is a cool name too! And both names only have 3 letters!"

"Yeah! That's true!"

"Wanna be best friends?" He asked me.

"Yeah!" I replied excitedly. "Except you have to be my school best friend. I have to neighbor best friends and they would be very sad if I stopped being their best friend."

"That's Okay. I have a neighbor best friend too, except he's younger then me."

"That's cool!"

I was so excited. Maybe the red-head and the blonde didn't want to be friends with me, but now I had a best friend. And that was better then five regular friends.

A bell rang.

"Woah. What was that?" Guy asked me, a little suprised.

"I think it was the bell that starts class. My cousin told me about it!" I replied.

"Cool!"

"Alright class, come sit on the carpet."

Mrs. Jameson walked over to the carpet and sat down.

Guy and I walked over to the carpet and sat down next to each other.

Mrs. Jameson did a welcome type thing and then we went around the circle saying our names and nicknames if we had 'em. I found out that the redish blonde's name was Ally, and the blonde girl who had been mean to me was named Greta. She was sitting by two other blondes, a girl named Sarah and another girl named Annie. After their turn the three blondes wispered to each other about each name and nickname and even burst out laughing after my turn and Guy's. I guess they thought Sam was a stupid name for a girl and Guy was a stupid name for a boy.

Chapter 3:

At recess Guy and I started playing house. He was the dad and I was the mom and we used my sweatshirt as the baby. About half way through recess Guy and I noticed a few boys pointing at us and laughing. We decided they must be pointing behind us or something and went on playing. But soon two of the boys, both red-heads, came over.

"Hey you. Guy, right?"

"Hi! Would you guys like to play with us? You can be our kids!"

"Yeah!" I agreed.

"No way! We don't play with girls! They have cooties!"

The boys ran off back to their group and left us alone for the rest of recess. In fact for the rest of the week. In fact they left us alone until right after Guy's birthday party. I was invited of course. Along with our whole class. We played hockey in the gym of the athletic club we were both members of and then they brought in bouncing houses and we played in those too.

Then on Monday when we came back to school those two red-headed boys came back to us during recess. I knew their names now. One was named Spencer and the other rode the bus with me, his name was Chris.

"Guy can we talk to you alone?"

"Umm...I guess. Just a minute Sam."

Guy walked off with the boys. It was the last time he was nice to me infront of them.

"What's up?"

"You had an awesome party!"

"Thanks! Is that all?"

"You wanna come hang out with us?"

"Can Sam come?"

"No! Girls have cooties!"

"But she's really cool and she's my best school friend!"

"Not if you wanna be cool. If you wanna be cool you can hang with us. If you wanna be a loser go back and hang with her."

"Fine. I'll come with you."

"Awesome."

The three walked over to the other boys.

I felt tears begin to form in my eyes. I had overheard the whole conversation. But I couldn't let my self cry. So I didn't. Instead I directed all my attention to becoming friends with "the blondes". In other words, Ally, Greta, Sarah, and Annie.

I know! The sadest part is that most of it's true.

And also, they aren't A&F preps, they're kindergarteners, lol. They don't become A&F preps either, opps, wasn't supposed to say that. Oh well. But there will be A&F preps who ruin Sam's life later in the story.
