The cougar slept lazily if not with an alertness that would keep her safe from any creatures with less-than-good motives. She let her little popping and crackling flame at the tip of her tail flick back and forth with the nervous twitch of any dozing kitten.
Capuli opened her eyes briefly, closed them again, licked her chops and yawned, and rolled to the other side. She was being watched; she could feel the eyes upon her. Better give them an idea that she was not alert and give them a chance to maybe sneak up to her. She would not let her guard down.
