Daedirian walked through the first tunnel, carefully sniffing his way through the caverns to make sure no one was around to ambush a potential alpha like himself. He picked his path wisely, using all senses available to him. The grey and white wolf shook his head as a warm breeze passed over him suddenly; there must have been another entrance somewhere along the other end of the cavern. He'd investigate later.

Diri finished his route through, turned, and went back to the front of the cave. Summoning something deep within himself, and indeed inside every male wolf still strong enough to lead a pack, and howled a claiming song, letting every creature within miles earshot that there was a new alpha roaming the islands.

[ o o c ] I hope this is okay, I couldn't find claiming rules anywhere that said I couldn't. ^^

*thinks* You're right.... But wrong at the same time.... To the best of my understanding Fire wolves can't claim Wind wolf territory... but it's not in the rules.... No one has done this yet, or even attempted to.... *awards prize for thinking outside the box* Why didn't any of us think of this!

But, I'll ask Wild Heart about it. This is perplexing....

We do allow cross-breeding of felins and cats, and horses with other races of horses. Maybe this could turn into a interesting mini-plot.

OOC: Ummmm... SW? Antrozous changed his character into a wind wolf. Look at his bio and his sig. It clearly says that Daedirian is a wind wolf.

IC: A thin mist arose from the entrance of the cavern; it seemed frozen in one place before it reformed into the shape of a blue-gray wind wolf. His fur in seemingly constant movement, he walked up to Daedirian. "So you have come to claim a terra, Daedirian. I, Azul, God of wolves, have come to see if you are worthy of this place. Can you protect it from all invaders? Defend all wolves who live and seek asylum here? Will you keep this land as if it were your own young?" Azul paused, awaiting a response.

Daedirian immediately swept his front end into a bow at the sight of the god. He'd been expecting this, but was nevertheless a bit rattled. This being was so much greater than anyone else he'd ever met. Humbled, Diri resisted making strong eye contact when he replied, "Yes, m'lord. I swear to protect, uphold, and serve. I thank your kindness in considering my alphaship."

He was respectful like he'd been taught but showed strength to the god Azul, letting him know that he would be a worthy alpha and an able-bodied male. The husky-print mascule waited quietly for his judgement.

Azul nodded appreciatively and returned Daedirian's bow. "Very well. I now dub thee Alpha of Deep Caves Terra. May you be blessed with prosperity and wisdom in your rule." He stepped back away from the new alpha and, with a nod, faded into the mist from whence he'd come.
