Title: .Bite Me.

Spottedleaf - March 8, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
Nyx thundered into the Socializing Grounds. Her hooves beat wild against the gound as she bucked and threw back her mane in aggresion. Her eyes were rolled into the back of her head and her ears were laid back flat. True, this anger was no one's fault but she felt like she couldn't stand anything any more.

She tossed back her mane. Stupid Yan Forest! Her hooves flew into the air. Stupid Brownstripe, or whatever is name is! Her eyes falashed red and her hooves pounded against the grasses. Stupid sky! Stupid ground! Stupid, stupid, stupid!

She glared at a tree in the distance, commanding it to melt away into the ground. Hr eyes were red with anger. Her thoughts swirled around her like a swarm of bees. Roaring like a tiger she charged the tree. Faster and faster she ran, almost flying.

POW!!!

Nyx body-slammed the tree. She fell to the ground at the plant's feet and laid there puffing for a few seconds. Then she looked up and saw the tree standing tall above her, like she was its prey. Her nostrils flared and her eyes turned dark red as she slammed into the massive trunk again.

Once again she fell, and once again she stood up and slammed into the tree. This time, Nyx fell harder to the ground, her front two hooves landed underneath her. Her paw and last hoof were splayed to the right of her twisted body.

Nyx huffed out her breath and tried to stand again, but she quickly realized she could not. Horror struck her face as she woke from her hatred filled state. Her eyes returned to their normal color, but they were three-times their normal size. She stared, unbelievingly at her legs as she wriggled her body from on top of them. She knew she wouldn't be running for a while, maybe never again.

"Help me!" she screamed as loudly as she could into the now setting sun. "Somebody, help me!" She curled her head up against her side and lay like that, whimpering like a small kitten and staring at her two broken legs.

OOC: Save her or leave her. If she dies, she dies. If she lives, she lives.

Onzilli had been performing his daily mid-day gallop to excersize his body. Suddenly, keen ears heard a wail for help, and being a God who had already had healing powers, who could simply stay there while getting there would excersize anyway?

Within minutes, his graceful form was standing magnificently a few feet away from a young felin. "Onzilli, God of Horses, at your service. I heard a request for assistance. I'm guessing you can't move, right?" He asked, tilting his skull to the side.

Lee was walking. He didn't know where he was going, or why, but it felt like he was supposed to be somewhere. A loud CRASH woke him from his daze. He was in the social area. The wolf shuddered as the loud noises continued. Small charges of electricity fell in flecks from his body.

Curious, he trotted toward the commotion. Beneath the outstretched branches of a large tree, two horses were talking. Lee stepped around the immense trunk to get a better view. He knew that hunting other sentients was against the laws, but his instinct was still vaguely excited. Taking a deep breath to keep this under control, Lee sat down within easy view of the horses, but far enough away so as to not pose a threat.

"Don'tcha think that if she could move, she'd have done it already?" Lee growled obstinately. "'Course, it looks like she got the tree as much as it got 'er."

Spottedleaf - March 8, 2008 04:01 AM (GMT)
Nyx lifted her head to Onzilli. "No, well, not really," she squirmed around, experimenting. She could think a little clearer now knowing that she wouldn't just lay there and rot like a dead squirrel. "Not these legs," she gestured her head toward the limps limbs.

What am I doing? This creature could have come to get me while I'm down! He could just be here to hurt me! Nyx couldn't help but slip back into her old ways of thinking. It was then that she noticed Lee.

"Yeah," she thought she heard herself almost laugh, though she didn't know why. Of course, she had rarely laughed in her life unless it was maniacal as she gave a defenseless creature a killing blow.

She turned back to Onzilli, but her question sounded like it was asked to both of them. "Do you think they'll heal?"

Silverstreak - March 8, 2008 04:06 AM (GMT)
"They're all broken. If a unicorn weren't here, they'd probably stay like that forever." Onzilli chuckled. "But, of course, I put my powers to good use." With that, he bent down and lightly touched Nyx with the tip of his horn. She glowed slightly for a split-second, then the healing had done its works.

"Any pain?"

Spottedleaf - March 8, 2008 04:17 AM (GMT)
Nyx's eyes grew huge once again when she saw her body glowing. But shock more than anything made compelled this. When she heard Onzilli's question she stood up and tested her limbs with a short trot back and forth. "I have a crick in my neck if that counts," she said, shrugging and swishing her tail back and forth. "But my legs feel fine." She went into a hunter's crouch momentarily to see how flexible her legs were. Creeping forward a few paces she gave her limbs an extra check. "They feel just like before!"

Then the awe started to set in. Her legs were destroyed first, but now they were healed. Just like that! Then she remembered that Onzilli wasn't only a unicorn, but a God. She dipped her head graciously, awe still glimmering in her eyes, "Thank you, Onzilli."

Silverstreak - March 8, 2008 04:25 AM (GMT)
"You're welcome." A smile crept upon his face. "The healing was meant for the legs- I'll do it again for your neck if you like." Suddenly, his attention snapped skywards. A grave expression crossed his face- the entire sky had darkened. He knew something was about to happen.

Then the meteorites fell. They crashed down, one nearly missing Onzilli's elegant form. His eyes, about to flare with panic, immediately searched for cover. He couldn't lose the calmness of a God, or every creature in his presence would panic.

PastCat - March 8, 2008 04:28 AM (GMT)
Lee watched as the god healed the felin. His instinct was disappointed, but he didn't care anymore. He was happy that someone could help.

Lee was shaken out of his mental fog by a sharp, pungent odor. The fur on his back stood up even more than usual as he realized what it was: burning wood. "Uhh... not to try and break up this pretty little scene or anything, but y'all might wanna look up." He gestured toward the canopy of leafy branches above. The first falling star had caught the crown and set it ablaze. Embers rained down upon the threesome as they dodged more meteors.

"Th' only place where they ain't fallin' is underground. Follow an' I'll show ya!" Lee raced toward a cave he had passed in his wanderings in the social areas. It was not far and Lee hoped that the horses had heard him.

Silverstreak - March 8, 2008 04:35 AM (GMT)
Onzilli's gaze directed to the cave. "Oh, dear.." he whinnied with alarm. "I don't think Nyx or I can fit. Maybe you and Nyx.." Then, he didn't care about his well-being. "Forget about me! Just get safe." He ushered the two towards the cave.

The God's coat, once a beautiful shade of gold, had been darkened to an unpleasant orange colour. He didn't care. He could always fix it later- but now, he had to immediately find Eliza and question The Core. Two innocent lives were at stake, and he was sure the creator of Zanzira wouldn't cause such a disaster. No- this was from somewhere else.

Spottedleaf - March 8, 2008 04:49 AM (GMT)
Nyx looked up with a worried look in her eyes. Something was wrong. It wasn't just the meteors or the sky, no, she was sure that nothing from Zanzira had created this. This had to be something else....

She nodded to Onzilli. "Run like the wind," she said. "And may StarHerd be with you." She turned and ran to the cave with Lee as another meteor fell farther away the distance and the sun sank to just a semi-circle above the horizon.

Squiggling, she pushed her way inside the small cave. She swallowed, realizing how helpless her mate and herd would be in Yan Forest if this happened there. She turned to Lee, "How could this happen? I mean, all of a sudden like that! It's like it came from nowhere!"

PastCat - March 8, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
"I dunno. I thought the Core-Gods were supposed to protect this place. Apparently they don't control everything." Lee shrugged. The meteors continued to set fires outside. At first the barage seemed to lighten, but then it would return with a fiercer intensity than before.

Lee tried to calm himself. This was not a time to go haywire. He suspected that the inner madness from the War was not his alone. There were rumors of felins going mad, and he did not want to take the chance that both of them would lose it.

"We might as well just try and wait it out, at least until it slows." He tried to sound confident, but there was still a waver of fear in his voice. What is our world coming to? he thought.

TigerGirl - March 8, 2008 09:51 AM (GMT)
The fire, tumbling down, only made Raijin run faster. His paws where pierced by flames, and what ventured from a peaceful sip from the creek waters turned into his worse nightmare, and he was living it. His heart went a million mile per hour. Worse of all, he could not say the dear words, maybe his last to his clan, and his mate. For once in the moon since he left being abused by his family, he cried. It streamed down his face. It dripped onto the craters of where the balls landed. It was not visble that he was bawling, but a soft whimpering came from his horse shaped mouth.

His dark markings, like the craters around him, were burned. He let out out a painful shriek, his eyes fading. He heard something, he struggling to turn his ears to the noise. He pushed his front legs, his hinds dragged, and kicked up. It sounded like his mate. Could it. The fire still made it hard for him to hear. It's evil cackle made his mind pulse, forming the abyss of a headache. When he rose finally to his feet, he galloped towards the cave like the word was ending, fire sparked around him, and even caught on his paws. He cambered into the ourcrop.

There she was.

He started to weep of happyness. She was safe.

Nyx...your safe

He went beside her. I'm sorry Nyx He had nothing else to say, as he lowered his body beside his world. He could not be relieve more than this. He closed his eyes, as his breathing slowed, he sighed.

She was safe...

Silverstreak - March 8, 2008 03:25 PM (GMT)
Onzilli quickly analyzed the newcomer- Raijin. (He knew all the horse inhabitants of Zanzira by name- Gods had the liberty to know.) Here was a problem. Raijin couldn't fit inside. Onzilli was perfectly fine standing out here- he wasn't immortal to wounds, but he was used to simply dodging anything that came too close.

"Raijin- you need cover!" He whinnied, looking around for another shelter. "That tree'll do. If anything falls too close, get away immediately, and that's an order." Onzilli's voice echoed not with comandingness, but with kindness and will for Raijin to do so. Nyx was in the cave right under that tree, so he could make sure she was okay at the same time.

PastCat - March 8, 2008 08:26 PM (GMT)
Assessing the newcommer, Lee made his way out of the cave. "If ya need da place, you can have it" The wolf shrugged. "I can handle the fire better than most." He was embarassed now, for hiding when his species was made for flame. He stretched. "That tree won't last long it this firestorm" As he spoke, the blaze from the first tree spread to another, carried by a gust of wind.

Spottedleaf - March 9, 2008 05:51 PM (GMT)
Nyx dipped her head at Lee's offer, but she couldn't help but want to be out in the flames. She imagined running around, fire burning the land around her to ashes and dust. And with that thought, the moments that she had just spent speaking with respect to other horses and enjoying life instead of death were gone. Her thoughts changed once again to those of flames, skulls, and misery.

Lashing her tail, she flexed her claws in and out of the ground beneath her. Then the thoughts flooded back to why she was even there. The anger she had felt before, the thoughts that had made her break her legs, flooded back in. "Hello, Raijin," she said, with a devious grin. She lashed her tail again, the fury she had felt towards the world bubbling up again inside her mind. Her claws began to flex in and out again. She stood and looked down at Raijin. "Do not be sorry," she could feel the Rage seeping back into her mind. It felt good, like home. "Fire only burns those who are afraid of it." For a moment her sensible half considered this statement, and it must have won out. She sat back down, but scooted forward so that she could watch the destruction of the land outside.
