Title: A new friend

To many other horses, Yellow Sands must seem like a wasteland. But to the drayagons, it was more like a hidden paradise. Skulni returned to his terra, no longer alone. He stood at the oasis. "Welcome, Misha, to Yellow Sands. I hope it's comfortable enough for you." He said before taking a drink from the cool, clear water. He then nodded toward a large stone. "If you want a place that's more sheltered, there's a cave on the other side of the boulder."

Misha, tired from the trip lowered her head. "Thanks a ton.. I feel tired... I think I might have a rest.. with a slight coarse in her thoart she laid down in the cave; resting her head over her legs. She thought for a moment... who might the father be of her foal be. It was probally her love, who she loved; not the dragoyon that ruled the so called 'best' land. Her foal would have his quilaties.. but his father was brutely savaged and eaten alive.

Skulni watched the mare as she went behind the boulder. To him, she was kind of an enigma. He had never heard of conflict within the alliances before. Even the wars in the old stories had one alliance fighting against another, but not a fight between herd members. It worried him.

The fact that the mare was pregnant felt rather uneasy as well. Who was the father? Was this foal the reason why she was on the run? Skulni gazed into the clear water of the oasis. If someone means to cause harm to this mare and her foal, he vowed to himself, I will protect them as I protect my ancestral lands. And if something should happen to her foal, I will raise it myself. He hoped that he would never have to follow through with his vow.

"You thought you could hide from us Misha, didn't you?" came the horribel waste of a voice; of her sinned mother. Her jaws open with disgusting brown teeth; each of the hanging with thick gooey drool. "Such a pitty you didn't mate with the stallion we chose!" he hissed, the rest of the family; inculding her father, the stallion that she hated and her aunts and uncles. "I loved him, you killed him. I shall replay his debt by birthing his foal!" she hissed back. He family, got closer every time that she ran. Until she stopped and saw her mother's mouth, and the tonsils hanging

She awoke, her heart racing, her eyes wide and her breathing deep.

It was just a dream... just a dream... she resurred herself, stepping out of the cave to see the stallion that claimed her uneasy. She needed to tell someone of her story. She was just uneasy as she felt a spark of pain in her belly. The foal was coming soon enough. Skulni, I must tell you something. Before my foal sees the light. My parents wanted me to be the mate of this herd that was large and powerful. It was because that there was a battle raging on. It was for safety purposes. I was mad eto live with him. But I fell for a stallion in a different herd. I kept on seeing him. Until my family found out. They ate him alive. They did not know of my preghanties, nor did I. They are going to do the same thing to me, if they find me again... Her pain grew, and grew some much until she staggered, and fell. She grunted. It hurt; painfully. She gasped for breath, and her hooves scrambled.

A brown, chesnut color head started peeking out. It had the same head as a 'normal'. horse. After the head, Misha's breathing became easier and she relaxed more. The foal let out a little whinny. She began licking it. It had large blue wings, and a tail much like hers. It had some markings on it's face. The foal was stunning, it shone as it snuggled against it's mother.

Skulni was stunned. Eaten alive??? He wondered if he should have never brought this mare here. Almost instantly, he could hear his mother lecturing him in his mind Everyone has a right to live in peace. Even disgrace does not condone overreaction. He wondered if she had known of this feud. Never mind. Skulni walked over to the mare. "Misha, thank you for telling me about your... past. I'm glad that you let me know what's going on. By the way, who was the stallion who fathered your foal?" He wasn't sure, but there was something familiar about the chesnutt coloring of the little one by her side.

ooc: is it okay if I add a family connection between Skulni & her mate?

TigerGirl - December 23, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
OCC: The father of the foal is... kinda dead. But sure why not.

PastCat - December 28, 2007 03:21 AM (GMT)
ooc: uhhh... I kind of need Misha to answer Skulni's question first. Can you please have her answer?

She gulped, her foal suckling. Sighing a deep breath, indicating that she did not want to talk of it, but she opened her mouth. Nothing came out, but she made herself. The foal's father is... is.. Ryanadde. He was a chesnut colour. My mother, a blue mare like myself ate him. She was cruel.. she stood. She was weak from birthing; the foal struggled to stand. The foal was a girl, a ordinary filly. She let a whinny out, and saw Skulni. The foal ran to her mother's side as she paced towards the cave. She laid down, adn she closed her eyes. Ryanadde will never see his only young... she closed her eyes, drifing into a sleep.

PastCat - December 31, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
Skulni's jaw dropped at the name. Ryanadde. He knew there was something familiar about the colt's coloring. Ryanadde... He gasped as if running out of air. A memory opened in his mind:The earthquake... the giant stones toppling and the sea frothing. A chestnut drayagon calling to him. "Run Skulni! Run!" he turned back to look at the other horse. "What about you, brother?" He called. "It's too late for me. There's something I need to take care of first..." The voice was cut off abruptly as they parted ways. Skulni raced for the highlands, his brother for the swamps.

Skulni was shaken from the memory. After that night, he had never seen his brother again. "Ryanade, My Brother."He shook his head. It was unbelievable, but he could understand now why his brother had disappeared in the night many times. He looked down as the filly looked up at him with clear emerald pools. They were deep with...something. A memory perhaps? "Come little princess. Your mother needs some rest." He and the foal stood there together, watching the sun set above the shifting sands.

OCC: Is that the end of the post? There maybe some more MO in the claiming grounds.
