1st Day in Yellow Sands, Sunset
At last, I have finally come of age to claim a land that my kind can rule. I no longer want to reside within the swamps that swallowed up my family. This place is far more beautiful. It feels wild and untamed, as though it was never settled in anyone's memory. I wonder if anyone lived here during Goddess Eliza's era. Maybe so, but I have seen none of my kind around any of the Monstrous Ones' Terras. Can it be that I am the only one of my kind left? Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I wish I knew...

Many Days Later
Much has changed since I last recorded my thoughts. I discovered a drayagon mare in the mate grounds. She was beautiful and I invited her to live with me. Misha is her name. It turns out, by inviting her to my home, I ended up over my head. From what little she's told me, Misha made it clear that she is in exile from her family. They want to KILL her for loving another. She was carrying his foal when her family killed him. By the Core, she is very lucky that she has lived and borne a filly.

I saw the coloring straightaway. The rich chestnut brought back memories, dim ones, from before and during the earthquake. Then when I heard the name... Well, let's just say that there are more coincidences here than meets the eye. Ryanadde Could he, my blood brother, have been her lover? Was he the stallion that her parents tore to pieces and ate? I hadn't seen him since the quake, but then again, I haven't seen anyone from my family since the quake. Am I losing my mind?

Later (much later)
All is quiet in Yellow Sands. We have heard nothing from Misha's family of late. No one else has claimed any Manster lands recently, so I hav no fear of competition. The nights have had such wonderous colors, as falling stars have been visible these past three nights. There have been rumors of stars falling in the social grounds, and even in the Gods' land. But we musn't believe everything we hear.

I decided to go back to the claiming grounds. They were the best place to find herd members-- and news. If there was really a firestorm in the social grounds, then that would be the first place I'd hear about it. Concern over this phenomena also gave me a way to get my mind off of Ryanadde. Anyway, I met a mare at the Grounds, a white drayagon, heavy with foal. She seemed nice enough when we spoke, but our conversation was interupted by something most frightening: firestones falling from the sky, starting fires among the dry foliage. It was true. Our world was in trouble.

Time Passed
To our great fortune, YS is untouched by the firestones. Dracona and Misha hit it off immediately. They seem to have become fast friends. Dracona is, indeed, with foal. Misha is watching her daughter. The filly, whom Misha named Ariadne, is very active and seems to take joy in the waters of our oasis. Otherwise, there is nothing new to tell about. All is quiet. My only worry is that it may be too quiet.

Strangeness
There is an odd feeling in the air, like something's wrong, but I can't place my hoof on it. There's tension, as in a thunderstorm before lightning. I hear a voice calling; it's almost a siren song. Come, Come, Come All to the Meeting Place. I'm hesitant to leave my land and my mares and foal, but I feel like I need to do this.

The Event
I was right. Something is very wrong. I went to the meeting place. All of the deities looked worried... and scared. The Core, it seems, is very weak. He called out, summoning creatures to take on a difficult quest to save our lands. The first to respond was a nightmare stallion, hardly unusual. But I almost laughed when I saw the second: a little alandor, not yet a stallion. The fool should let others join who are of a mature age. I considered undertaking the quest, but then I remembered the threat against Misha. No, I must stay and protect my lands.
