Skulni walked through the arid landscape. The island was empty of other horses; it was just the way he liked it. The soft sands crumbled between his clawed toes as he headed toward the small oasis. The earthquake that had destroyed so many lives had created a small geyser and had built up large rock formations that were unfamiliar to the drayagon.
The water here was sweet and rich with minerals. Skulni relieved his thirst in one of the pools adjacent to the geyser. The land, though dry and deserted, was perfect for his kind. "If there be no objections from the heavenly guardians, I will claim here." He whispered into the hot winds that blew around him. Skulni knew of the many eyes watching him, but he didn't care. He awaited one of the equine deities to inspect his claim.
Onzilli had been only a few miles away; his sharp ears heard Skulni's claim, and he trotted eagerly towards him. He was excited; this was the first time a horse had laid claim since he'd become a God. With the wind on his side, the unicorn was soon standing majestically in front of Skulni.
"Do you promise to uphold the Law? To treat your mares as they deserve? To show respect to the worshipped? To reveal the upmost loyalty that any stallion could have?" Onzilli asked, speaking the traditional words that a God spoke when accepting or declining a claiming stallion.
Skulni looked at the unicorn god and nodded. "Yes. I promise to defend this, my land, and all those who choose to reside herein. I solemnly vow to uphold the laws of Zanzira and show respect to its guardians." He humbly bowed his head to Onzilli.
