Carali prowled mysteriously through the grass, lowering her bellyfur to tickle the towering stalks. She did not know she was in the claiming grounds; just that a terrible monster was about to kill, destroying innocent lives, and Carali knew exactly who the monster was.

The lethal caracal stopped, scenting her prey. She then continued, following the scent. Suddenly, she swiped a paw- and killed a poor little butterfly!

Aegni entered the Claiming Grounds, a cat on a mission. The torch jaguar was lit, a mellow white-yellow flame encasing his muscular form. He spotted the smaller fire cat as she pounced on the helpless insect. He softly stepped toward the cub.

"Greetings," he said to the caracal, "I am Aegni of Phoenix Mountain. By what name are you called? Have you yet a homeland?" He sat down, watching the cub.

Curiosity sparked in Carali's eye. She turned her body fully towards Aegni, claws scratching the ground almost silently.

"I'm Carali of... um... nowhere." She meowed, answering the male directly.

[COLOR=purple]Aegni nodded sagely. "Would you like to come to Phoenix Mountain with me?" he asked her, his flames dancing.

"Sure!" she meowed, bouncing up and down in excitement. Carali then chased her tail, yelping in surprise after she nipped it.

"Ow," she muttered.

Aegni smiled at the cub's antics. "We can go now. Are you ready to find a new home?" He asked. His flames danced orange. Secretly, he hoped that Phoenix Mountain would be a good enough home for the young caracal.

"Yeah!" Carali felt like her mini volcanos would erupt from her excitement. She bounced about, waiting impatiently for Aegni to lead her to the caracal's new home.
