Shenshi Lake was silent. It had been silent for several years. The hoof prints of the silver stallion that had once stood here, protecting his mares, had long since been washed away by the waves of the lake lapping the beach.
But prehaps, today was the day it would all change.
Something gold caught the sun. A stallion, golden as a newly printed coin, rose from the surface of the pool as his hindlegs formed. He tossed his snow white mane and there was a flash of the past. The eyes, if they where green, would have been Silver's. The walk, it could have been him. But the stallion had blue eyes. He was scaled, yes, but he was differently colored. He was golden. His mane was not bright grey, but snow white.
The stallion pawed the sand with a single forehoof. He tossed his head, and half reared pawing he sky. Droplets of water sprayed from his flailing hooves and he landed upon the groud, spraying sand in every direction. "I Copper, decendant of Silver, claim this land as my birthright!"If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
