Alpha- The top ranking wolf in the pack. There is usually a alpha male and alpha female in the pack. These wolves are almost always mates.

Auds- A wolf's ears.

Banner- A wolf's tail.

Beta- The second ranking wolf in the pack. Sometimes in a wolf pack their can be both a beta male and a beta female.

Den, Cave, Rendezvous- A dug out hole in the ground, a natural place beneath trees, caverns in mountains and canyons where the alpha female will give birth to pups and where the pack would stay during bad weather.

Dominate- Having power, control and privilege over others within a social hierarchy.

Gestation Period- This is the pregnancy period of a female wolf. This period is generally 62-64 days.

Hybrid- The offspring resulting from reproduction between two closely related species (e.g., a domestic dog and a wolf).

Litter- All of the pups born during a single birth to an adult female wolf.

Muzzle, maw- The wolf's mouth and nose area.

Nare- A wolf's nose.

Omega- The lowest rank in a pack social order.

Optics- A wolf's eyes.

Orbs- A wolf's eyes.

Pillars- In wolf role play referred to as a wolf's legs.

Scent-Marking- The process of marking the borders of a pack's territory using urine, scat, body odors, and scent.

Territory, Terra- An area of land that is the home to a pack of wolves. Within the territory there is generally sufficient amounts of food to support the pack.

Ungulate- A hoofed mammal, such as moose, caribou, and deer.
