New forum. Yes or no? Vote.
Poll available for voting.

I'd say stay on this one for now. But it depends on the new forum.
And Ilron, I'm suprised you're opting for a new forum while you haven't mastered this one yet.

Once I "master" this forum, it'll be too full to move anywhere, really. I know what type of forums Adnaw is talking about and so far it seems this one is far more complicated to our visitors. Nevertheless, one point to "No".
Sondosia - November 4, 2008 02:20 PM (GMT)
added a poll for you Ilron :)

I've been running this brand of forum for YEARS. Hell, I know how to manipulate most features.
Ilron - March 11, 2009 09:33 AM (GMT)
Yet you don't and we're in a frozen phase. Check out the thread Rhaine posted about the WoWstead forums. Since we're all lazy, we'd best use the easy way of crafting a new forum, since editing this one to the perfection of
http://thespiritwolves.wowstead.com/ is basicaly impposible.
You want it or not, you'll have to agree with me, that the quality of this forum pales in comparison to others and will NOT change, because it requires FAR more effort than the ones suggested in
http://www.wowstead.com/features.php.
If it's so horrible, why don't I do anything about it and whine? Point is, I'm thwacking you guys to follow me as I can't move on to having a new forum without anyone agreeing with me.
Rhaine - March 11, 2009 01:24 PM (GMT)
I'm voting yes obviously, no use to stick to the past when there are easier & better looking alternatives ahead. ^^
Morbium - March 11, 2009 06:46 PM (GMT)
I'm still voting using this one. So what if we can't tweak it to the same level as wowhead ones?
I know this forum, and well. we can't switch over all threads to the new forum
Josephyne - March 11, 2009 11:15 PM (GMT)
I dont mind what ye do ^^

I'm afraid visual impression of the guild has a LOT to do with recruiting, Morb... for example, Factio Funestus. They're godlike roleplayers, or atleast used to be, but their recruiting rate was pathetic, due to no "SHINIEZ LOL". =/ using this forum makes me feel all covered in slime, in some swamp.

The future is bright, the future is wowstead!
ps: if we'd need any banners or stuff, I'm a webdeveloper/webdesigner, I can do quite a few things ^^
you can see a few things I made a few years ago as forum signatures for other games here:
http://users.telenet.be/mattiasdemey/Linea...esnavatars.htmlAt the bottom is a banner for my old alliance guild, and two signatures of wow chars ^^

Since there's little response to what we're gonna do now I decided to give it a try and set up a brill test page.
http://brillguild.wowstead.com/there, it took me little time to set this up and it definitely looks ALOT better than this sorry excuse of a forum :P
Give it a try and FEEDBACK please...guild password is helpbrill (not sure where you'll need that, probably to register as 'member')

WoWstead's very good.
In particular, I like the fact that:
- The account is indeed easy to make.
- Our professions are there for all to see
- There's a guild password that we can give to people we like who aren't necessarily in the guild in-game (Galliard?).
- There's an actual Recruiting section where people can fill out their applications.
- On our character profiles, there's an Activity level. Hilariously, if you only make one post, this will read: "2008 years ago".
- You can make the guild aware of any specialist recipes you've learnt with your character.
There's a lot of linkages to your character so you can see your in-game stats and such.
It's a lot more WoW-themed, and more interesting.
Plus, there appears to be an Argent Dawn forum we can post in too.
The work to restore the threads we already have here probably won't take as long as we think - most of the threads we probably don't need.

thx for testing it out Aramthos :)
I'd also like to add that there's a place to post screenies with a slideshow & other imagery.
There are links to everyone's armory which is handy too. ^^

Tested. Love it. Completely. Please proceed in building this baby into a real forum. I'll copy'n'past 'all' the topics that are currently here, once we're ready.

alright,
got a few questions, who do I make co admin?
what happens to this site, can we put a redirect or a link to the new website once we're done?
Ilron - April 11, 2009 09:33 AM (GMT)
Co admins - me, Morbium, Tzurkir, Lilliandras.
This site stays as it is until we're all moving over there. It's like trash that just... stays... uncleaned. Redirecting link would be great, yes. Please post further notes along the proccess.
Rhaine - April 16, 2009 07:41 AM (GMT)
Ilron, the admins have been set up, but I'd advise everyone not to change too much to the site settings, as it should be optimized for us now.
Ilron, you can start copying if you want. Who's the admin of this site to put a redirect on it?
