Hello, this is Ilron Dreadfist with a thread about informing you of an old RP-PvP event I have planned two months back - The Southshore Siege. The event will take place October 25th(Saturday) in Southshore, including weaponry from exploding corpses to a kitchen knife.
Obviously, we're aiming to turn the town to ashes and show the Alliance that the Horde is not to be triffled with. Of course, the guards and NPCs will respawn, though a real roleplayer wouldn't mind game mechanics - 'if' we manage to fulfill our goal, without any excuses, the town will have to be considered devastated(perhaps rebuilt in the future - it's up to the alliance).
Now, information to those that are confident about participating in the event:
Gear/outfits - Come with your roleplaying clothes. The type of gear you'll be using(dependant on the position within the battleground) will be written below.
Deaths/Injuries - Let's say someone got you killed. You're not supposed to be dead - you may simply be knocked out. If you wish to return to the battle, you'll need a medic(priest/paladin/shaman) to attend to your wounds...if it's 'not' a wound and you're actualy 'dead', then the medic will need more effort and more time to ressurect you. Any possible injuries should have an influence to your future and present(event-time) roleplay.
There are five types of positions within the battleground: Cavalry, Archer, Soldier, Siegeman and Caster.
Those that would belong to the cavalry, should and will follow one of our members, general Morbium's orders. We all know that there's no mounted combat, so once you reach the enemy, fight him/her as you do with anyone else, though don't forget to jump back up on the mount as soon as you're not fighting. Hence, that mounts aren't immortal and may be injured/killed/destroyed(skeletal horses), so be creative enough - anything can happen to your mount. Archers should be wielding a bows/crossbows 'and' one-handed, in case of close combat. We'll have braziers ready for you to quickly light the arrows. Note, though, that your ammo isn't limitless, therefore you might run out of'em(Oh no!), so again, be creative enough to make it interesting. Archers may only wear leather or mail gear. Soldiers may wield any kind of weapons(except for ranged ones, since you're having close-combat) and from mail to plate gear. Dependant on the weight/quality of the armor, it may be easy/difficult to move 'and' make you more/less vulnearable to strikes(Naturaly, soldiers are least vulnearable to any damage than other types of participants, though of course have their disadvantages). A siegeman places the "ammo' onto the siege weapon, cut the rope when ordered and overall - do what's ordered with the siege weapons(easy, eh? You wish!). Casters... you'll be wearing cloth or leather. It is up to the caster, either he'll/she'll encourage/heal the Horde-participants or kill the foes. Anything that moves by foot and belongs to the Horde, within the battleground, is led by Ilron Dreadfist. Remember, everyone has a disadvantage/advantage.
Exact time: October 25th, a Saturday, 19:00 Realm Time(07:00 PM).
Don't tell the opposite faction about the exact time, if you have any decency.
aren't I to give a speech before we assault?
Do not question your superior - my word is your command! *cough*... besides, have you thought of the Shadow Meeting speech already?

nope.
I think i'll write some stuff down, but, like all else, i think i'll just go with the flow ;)
i'm quite good at improv
When you announce this on AA. Write an IC bit written from an alliance point of view. Might be fun. SO like this:
"The scout picked his way through the forest. He had no idea why he was stationed here. Nothing but beasts and the undead this far up....
...Suddenly a creaking noise assualted his ears, and he turned to look at the road. An army was slowly progressing along it. The creaking noise caused by the grinding wheels of severall dreadfull siege weapons. Corpses were stacked on them. The smell of rot assualting the scout's noise. Like the wail of the dead, the meatwagons slowly grinded forward....to southshore..."
I can expand it more.
And you've got me providing the after-report from Newman. Joy of joys.
^^
Anyway: a slight snag might be if the 'shadows of doom' wotlk patch comes before the siege. Then it would be virtually impossible for us to enter the town as we're beaten back by lvl 75 guards.
Joy...
All and all, i think it went very well ^^
shame there was so little resistance.... Burned down Southshore in 5-10 minutes and Refugee's point got slaughtered within that time as well.
And who says the horde sucks? >: )
