Title: An evening in Brill

Thaedydal - September 14, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
* tired to put this in story telling but it would not let me create a new thread.*

When last Thaed was in Brill she saw a notice asking for those who had the skills to scout the place which was the new target. The General Morbium asked for as much intel that could be gathered on a recon mission.

She had headed of and scouted the down from back to front coming in from the riverside section taking her time to note all the buildings and the patrol paths of the guards. She then took the time to compile as complete report as possible of her findings and then when it was complete headed to Brill as she knew that the General would be there or failing that she would be able to find how and where to leave her report.

The town seemed to be in an uproar, she wasn't sure as to what had happened,
the 'tax gatherer' Mantais was raving drunkenly about elves. There were several wearing the tabard of Brill but she didn't not know most of them.

True she had been honoured to help the warrior Armillian retrive his armour with the aid of Sallowstaff and a few others but she felt awkward in addressing them as they were all quite busy. So she watched and waited for the right moment.

She entered the inn and notice the General was there. She quietly approached him,
he was reprimanding someone who had strayed into the kitchen. She saluted and waited for him to have a moment to notice her and then she asked where she should her lodge her 'scouting' report.

He stared at her, looked down to the tabard trying to recall if he had seen her before, which he hadn't. He look at her steely eyed but she refused to be intimated and stood deathly still as only an undead rogue can and waited for an answer.

After what seemed an age as she no longer could count her heartbeat which she was sure if she was not undead would have been pounding in her ears, he nodded in the direction of the townhall and told her to lodge the report there.

She gestured her thanks and headed there directly not wanting to take up any more of the general's time. Inside the townhall there were scrolls, records and parchments all over the place. She clutch the report as she glanced about wondering where to put it. At last the clerk approached her and asked if she needed assistance.
Thankfully the clerk offered to keep the report to be handed over to the General when he arrived.

After handing over the report to the safe keeping of the clerk Thaed took some time to peruse the books, some of them dated to the time before Brill fell to the plauge and then the scourge. When alive she never had much time for reading but with her unlife streching ahead of her there was more then enough time to learn as much as she could with out the interuptions of home and family.....

She winced and refuse the memories it was still too painful, being back in a town with people trying to make the most of their unlife was still difficult, but at least she no longer got upset at them aping what went before. That was a different time, a different life where she had a different name.

Thaed being lost in not thinking about the past didn't notice the general enter.
He brusquely asked to the report and she informed him that she had lodged them with the clerk. He then went back to the matter which had the town so riled something to do with the bloodelves not being blood elves a matter she had really no understanding of but a matter of such import that he was going to send a report
to Lady Sylvanas herself.

Thaed held her breath and moved into a prephieral position and as soon as the General had the report written and sealed he asked for someone to deliver the report. Thaed snapped off a salute and offered to do so. The general nodded handed her the report and told her to get going. After securing the report she sprinted out of there, got Dobbin from the stables and raced to the UnderCity as fast as she could.

Once in the twisting corridors of the cavern that is the undercity her spirits soared
as she ran past the point of breathlessness thrilled to have been entrusted with such a mission. She slowed her pace once she reached the royal quarters to a more seemly pace that would not make the guards twitch. She approached the dias avoiding the dread gaze of Lord Varimathras, she had unfinished tasks for him but he knew they were things best aptly handled rather then botched.

Then she humbly approached the great lady and addressed her.

Lady Sylvanas took the report, read it and wrote a reply and handed it back uttering
"Return with this" in her ringing tone. Thaed bowed and sprinted from the chamber and back into the city on her way back to Brill. As she crested the hill by the zeplin way point on Dobbin she noticed there was an orc in town, how strange she thought.

She stabled her mount and headed to the townhall where the orc was causing some fuss with the tax collector and seemed to be gathering the general's ire.
Again she waited to one side out of ear shot of the conversation waiting.
When there was a lull she coughed slightly and the general took notice of her and approached her. " Sir I have a reply for you" she handed over the missive, he took it and wandered of to read it.

She waited while he seemed deep in pondering and then asked could she be of any other service, " Maybe later" the General said distractedly as he waved her dismissal. Thaed sharply saluted and left the town hall to seek the comfort of the inn.
