Title: Guitar Hero
Description: Anyone else play it?

Loffle Monster. - August 8, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
I'm a huge fan of Guitar Hero. I play real guitar, but I have more fun with Guitar Hero. I play mostly on the hard difficulty, but I also play a lot on expert. I have all of the games on PS2 and plan getting GH3 when it comes out.

Moop - August 8, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
Friggin Yes.

GH is most likely the greatest game on the PS2.

Im only slightly into fantasy games, sports games, etc., and Im a huge music nerd, so this game is the best of everything for me.

Guitar Hero was fun at first. But it became to repeative for me. As well as the fact I have time to do better things...like wait for Metroid Prime 3.

Loffle Monster. - August 9, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
It has kinda lost its touch. The first is my favorite. Then it goes downhill.

Lysis - August 9, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
I've only played it once. Seems okay.

Are you talking about Metroid Prime or GH? If Metroid Prime:

The series has never went done. First off, Metroid Prime 2 was a great game, the only problem was the graphical features of the game which made samus look like a barbie doll. The third one is coming out and is looking like the King of FPS.

For Guitar Hero:

I found GH2 better than the first.

Loffle Monster. - August 10, 2007 05:30 PM (GMT)
Guitar Hero.

In some aspects Guitar Hero 2 was better. the HO/POs were much better. The amount of songs was more worth the money.

The songs were bad choices, though. A few sounded nothing like the original. And a lot were weird picks. Why would you have Bad Reputation over more well known songs like the Boys Are Back In Town.

Guitar Hero one had more classic songs.

I do not know about you, but bad reputation is one of my FAVORITE songs of ALL time.

Just to let you know, well known does not compare to GOOD songs.

Panique - August 11, 2007 03:24 AM (GMT)
I've played Guitar Hero 1 and 2 (I think?) at demos at a few stores. I'm not that good, but it is fun. :] I do kind of want it myself, but I'd rather get some other games before it.

It's a pretty good game. But I wouldn't suggest it unless you are into rock and rockin' out. :D

Because Bad Reputation is much better. Besides, they picked well-known songs over good songs enough for well-known-song-loving players to have their compensation.

Which songs am I talking about? Well, specifically, I mean Shout at the Devil, Cherry Pie, Strutter, and Surrender. Bleh.

I've beaten the first two on hard, and have played through most of all three on Expert. I enjoy playing on Expert the majority of the time. I'd have to say I rate them as such, from least awesome to most awesome:

Rocks the 80's
Guitar Hero
Guitar Hero 2

I've rated GH2 as my favorite for one simple thing: the playlist.

Moop - August 15, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
NO U

I was going to disagree with your placement for Rt80's, but in a sense I agree. 30 songs, even ifm they were better than what they are, are not worth 60$ CDN.

Loffle Monster. - August 16, 2007 03:19 PM (GMT)
Wasn't worth the money, I say.

And here's the announced GH3 songs:

bold denotes song performed by the original artist (all other songs are covers)
"3's and 7's" – Queens of the Stone Age
"Barracuda" – Heart
"Cherub Rock" – Smashing Pumpkins
"Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll" – Blue Φyster Cult
"Cult of Personality" – Living Colour
"Even Flow" – Pearl Jam

"Go That Far" – Bret Michaels Band
"Knights of Cydonia" – Muse
"La Grange" – ZZ Top
"Lay Down" – Priestess
"The Metal" – Tenacious D
"Miss Murder" – AFI
"Mississippi Queen" – Mountain
"My Name Is Jonas" – Weezer
"The Number of the Beast" – Iron Maiden
"One" – Metallica
"Paint It, Black" – The Rolling Stones

"Paranoid" – Black Sabbath
"Raining Blood" – Slayer
"Reptilia" – The Strokes

"Rock and Roll All Nite" – Kiss
"Rock You Like a Hurricane" – Scorpions
"Sabotage" – Beastie Boys
"School's Out" – Alice Cooper
"She Bangs the Drums" – The Stone Roses
"She Builds Quick Machines" – Velvet Revolver
"Slow Ride" – Foghat
"Suck My Kiss" – Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Talk Dirty to Me" - Poison
"Through the Fire and Flames" – DragonForce
"Welcome to the Jungle" – Guns N' Roses

Shmeh - August 17, 2007 12:42 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I spotted that on Wiki a while back. At first glance, I'd say the only song I have a problem with is Miss Murder. As far as I can remember, it was a vocal and bass driven song. I'm sure it'll be first set though, so I won't cry.

What's your source?*

I didn't say a thing about Motley or Kiss. As a matter of fact, I never even said I disliked the songs. Essentially, I said they could've picked better songs for a game called Guitar Hero. I also never said that these "better songs" had to be by different bands. They could've very well picked a better Motley guitar song than Shout at the Devil.

True...they needa get some White Stripes and Ozzy. Lamb of God as well. XD

Laid to Rest is in GH2, FTW.

Shmeh - August 28, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
... And Bark at the Moon was in the original GH.

Edit: And of all the RHCP songs, why Suck My Kiss?

Hate to to double post*, but this must be brought to attention.

*Nevermind, I ended up merging the posts.

youre right about thin lizzy.

But not about the whole game. Why? Hangar 18, Beast and the Harlot, Mother, Woman, Them Bones etc etc. PUSH PUSH LADY LIGHTNING. carry on wayward son, jordan, freya etc etc etc etc.

i love this gam, though i dont own it. So much fun. They kinda sold out now though, GH3 has the kasier chiefs and the killers (what?).

EDIT: read the whole thread. DragonForce are gay, who cares. And suck my kiss is pretty good, funky. Probably shoulda been.........Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

RealFolkBlues - September 11, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
I love Guitar Hero. On expert I got 5 stars on all but 5 songs, and I beat Jordan. I slowed down a lot, but it's still like my favorite games. I can't wait for GH3, or more importantly, Rock Band.

If you would read the whole thread, you would see that Through the Fire and the Flames is a crazy song (the Youtube video I linked to omits the solo, so I suppose you can't really judge from that). You'd also note that a person or two does care.

DragonForce is fairly stupid, yes. The way they take themselves so seriously and all really butters my hot dog*. But no matter how stupid I think they are, Herman Li is still one of the best guitarist I've ever heard. Ever.

Also, Suck My Kiss is good, but if I were to pick a guitar song by RHCP, that would certainly not be the one.

*That's a fresh one.

Yeah, you're pretty good eh? I just beat it on Expert earlier today, and I've only managed to five star a few songs.

A friend of mine has 5 starred everything but Beast and the Harlot. Won't be long before I've held the controller of a man (teenage boy) with the Log. Actually, it was his controller that I got most of my experience on, not mine.

Blessed guitar controller?

Nonsense.

Right?

Necco - September 15, 2007 03:41 PM (GMT)
I actually don't have any of these games, but I played GH2 in a bestbuy and I was pretty good (I guess its because I play guitar? I dont know) but yea. I'm planning on getting it once GH3 comes out. :)

The only skills from real guitar that transer over to GH is sense of rythm.

That, and if you're deft with you fingers.

Shmeh - September 16, 2007 12:25 AM (GMT)
From my experience, it's mostly the former. Anyone who plays video games is king of the fingers, unless your game is KD or an RPG.

42nd post.

Guitar Hero III appears to be better than I thought it would be. I'm actually liking the song list so far. But I think Rock Band has a couple songs I'd like to see in GH. I wish I had a 360.

I'm personally wanting to see some Eagles, Joe Walsh, The Doors, and so on.

Saharah - September 24, 2007 03:56 PM (GMT)
Has you guys seen Switchfoot's new music video? It has Guitar Hero in it- the game itself seems to have had a big impact on gaming. Enough to show up in random places, anyway.

I mean, eeeeeveryone knows what Guitar Hero is, and where I come from, you aren't cool if you don't own it. My brother does, in my case.

I AM COOL.

My parents, friends' parents, girls at my school, and even the jocks play Guitar Hero. It really did have a major impact.

Currently I'm thinkin about making a Guitar Hero website.

Shmeh - September 28, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it definetly made itself felt. Just about everyone I know has the game.

Hardly anyone has beaten it on Expert around here, though, so I feel special still. :D
