Title: Hermes
Description: *Approved*

musical zombie. - October 27, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
Name: Hermes.
Age: 250 years old.
Hair: Jet black. It falls slightly over his right eye, and is semi-long.
Eyes: A strange white colour.
Gender: Male.
Race: Vampire.
Height: 6' 2".
Weight: 145 pounds.
Weapon(s): He carries two beautifully-crafted white revolvers, with black symbols etched along the sides. There are different kind of bullets he uses when shooting that are endowed with different magicks.
Fire
A bullet is shot and, when it goes to a certain speed, erupts into a brilliant flame. (Also goes fiery when it hits something.)
Darkness
Pretty self explanatory; same as the fire bullet, except an explosion of dark energy appears.
Ice
This is a bit different; when the bullet hits something, ice spreads from the hit point and immediately hardens, which can cause immobilization. Probably the weakest of his bullets, but the most used.

In addition to his revolvers, he can use his very sharp canines, being a vampire, to suck blood from victims, if allowed the chance.
Armour: No armour.
Strengths: Hermes is very stealthy and, as such, exceeds at sneak attacks and the like. He's also quite fast, and flexible, as well. His coordination is unsurpassed. During the night he grows somewhat stronger, as well.
Weaknesses: Being a vampire, the light of day weakens him and, when fighting in it, is not able to preform his best. Not only that, but pure silver is basically death to him, and, conforming to all vampire myths, a stake through the heart is a surefire death for him. He's also deathly afraid of water.
Skills/Magic: Some of his bullets are endowed with magical properties (as explained above on the Weapons category), but other than that, he doesn't have much magical power. He has learned to use magicks to sprout a pair of temporary wings, but that's about the extent of his magic.
Appearance: Hermes is quite tall, and towers over some others. He always seems a dark presence whenever he's in a place. His attire consists of many different things, but what he is usually seen in is a black suit and black shoes. Atop his head is a Blues Brothers-esque hat that, from the band that surrounds the circumference of the top of the hat, sticks a picture of his smaller sister, whom he loves in the dearest way possible. His skin is pail, and there are several strange clever-looking wrinkles at the corners of his eyes; no one quite knows what they're from, and Hermes would never tell. His hair falls down somewhat over his right eye, going to about his bottom lip, and on the left side it merely is on the side of his head and falls to about his cheek-bone. His hair ends at his neck at a few inches above the start of his spine. His eyes are a milky-white colour, and often have mistaken him for a blind when he's merely different, different than the rest. His teeth are very nice, and very white, and his canines protrude farther down than the rest and are pointed and intensely-sharp.
Personality: Hermes is very charismatic, and his 'well' of humour and tact never seems to run dry. He always seems to enjoy life to its fullest, and never ceases to laugh at anything and everything, always finding humour in something or other. This often makes battling with him strange and distracting, because he always seems to be smiling about something and you'd never be able to tell if it was at your weakness, his own jokes, or a hidden ability that he'd pull out. Who could tell?

In battle, he banters quite a bit, usually just talking formally with his opponent while battling, which can alienate some and amuse others. His way of speech often comes off as cocky and rash. He can make some laugh, and others he merely pisses off.

He talks with a slight British accent, having lived in Britain for quite a while.
Biography: Hermes was born to a mother who died during birth, and as such he was taken by his father to a different place, to a small place in Britain where he grew up. He never went to school, and his father, who was his only guardian, taught him everything. His father was his main rolemodel, his hero, if you will. His father could never figure out why his son was born with the strange milky-white eyes that he has, and it bothered him to no end. Conversations about it always made Hermes uncomfortable, and he never wanted to talk about it.

"Hermes...what in bloody hell is with your eyes?"

"Father..." Hermes stared at his feet abashedly and kicked the dirt.

"Okay, okay. Sensitive and whatnot. It just bothers me." His father smiled a bit, but he knew it was faked; his father was irked to no end by his eyes.

And one day it was gone.

---------------------------------

Hermes came back to his house, being sent out to run an errand for his father, to find their small manor burnt down, the portrait of his father's father cut in half, crudely. Things were aflame, and everything was ashen and dead. He found traces of the villagers, and he knew that it was them; those who had eyed him, always avoided him. They found out.

------

Perhaps I'll go back, a little while back, and explain some things. You see, Hermes wasn't always a vampire, and his name wasn't always Hermes. His name was originally Thomas Falkland, and he lived in moderate happiness with his father in their manor in Britain.

One night, a fearsome rain came falling from the heavens, on a cold, black night, so black that it hurt to be out in the darkness. As they sat by their fire, desperately trying to get warm (their manor didn't have such good insulation as the other brick houses did), there was a rap on the door. A strange white-skinned man stood before them as the door creaked open, and he suddenly collapsed onto their floor. What else was there to do than to drag him in?

But at night, a short prick in the neck...

After being shunned from civilization as a vampire, Thomas ended up changing his name to Hermes, and roamed the land.

He dreamed of a world where he was accepted; where he was looked up to, someone who was a true rolemodel.

His hate built up for humans, though, and by humans I mean regular people; he absolutely started to despise them. The way they looked at his skin, the way they drew back from him, the way that people would cross to the other side of the street when seen. It infuriated him; he was like everyone else, only a little bit different.

He was a vampire.

This is good, but I'd like a little more depth in the biography. What are Hermes' goal? What're his dreams?

Also, I'd like you to explain how he became a Vampire. I'll take it his mother was one, but I'd still like that cleared up.

Fix all that up a little, then I'll take another look at him.

Fixed him up, oh master approver.

I find some of the biography slightly forced, but it's certainly good enough now.
